Introduction Traditional, central-mast parasols have, for many years, been the most popular choice for outdoor shade and shelter. Our StormForce Parasols, with their increased strength and durability, make them perfect for the commercial market. The superior wind resistance of Breezefree s StormForce Parasols make them a perfect solution for exposed locations. Tested in Mercedes-Benz s wind tunnel, StormForce Parasols have withstood winds of up to 60mph. StormForce Parasols are telescopic and crank lever operated. Their strength comes from a significantly larger mast diameter and wall thickness, as well as wider parasol arms. Mechanics The StormForce telescopic design, with cranked lever operation, is exceptionally strong. The cranking handle is removable and the solid construction ensures high wind stability and durability. The telescopic system is designed with a special spindle lift, so even the largest parasol folds up above the tables without disturbing their contents, or the guests sitting around the table; a very important feature in the catering trade. Drive The drive crank handle locks the spindles automatically in every opening/closing position, to prevent accidental opening or closing of the umbrella. StormForce Parasols 9
Strength Strong and stable mast, its lower part reinforced with interior pipes. The corner arms of square parasols are reinforced with galvanized steel tubes to provide additional strength. The connecting joints between the parasol arms and supporting arms are made with U channels. StormForce Parasols 10

Ground Sockets For permanent installation, an in-ground sleeve is installed into a concrete foundation. The upper sleeve is then secured to the exposed in-ground sleeve plate. The parasol mast is inserted and secured twice - by a clamp screw and counter screws. This prevents the mast from wobbling. Pedestal Bases When ground sockets are not an option, StormForce parasols can be installed using pedestal bases. The base consists of an upper sleeve and galvanised steel frame, into which 500 x 500mm concrete slabs are placed to counter-balance the parasol. Gutters Gutters are conically manufactured, and when attached to the parasol they provide a slight decline to ensure good drainage. Threaded aluminium pipes are inserted into the material sleeves and connected together to further improve drainage. The gutter is attached to the roof support by snap hooks. Gutters can connect several parasols into one unit or can connect a parasol to a building. StormForce Parasols 17
Side Sheets Side Sheets increase the practical use of a parasol by further protecting customers from the elements. Side sheets are available with or without window sections, made from marine-grade PVC, and doors can also be cut into the fabric. Spar-Mounted Heaters Up to four spar-mounted heaters can be fixed to adjustable spars surrounding the mast and pointing outwards. They are easily folded and stowed when the parasol is closed. Bambusa Superior Bambusa Superior is similar to the Bambusa Standard, with the difference being a stainless steel underarm support which replaces the pivot bolt of the rib and rib support of the Standard. Olefin Fabric Covers Olefin provided a good texture and cover while being a light material. It is made from poly-propylene and uses a solution-dyed process. The material has a low moisture absorption and will dry quickly.
