THE ENCHANTED FOREST Looking for the missing members of the family In the heart of the Basque country, with a beautiful view of a pastoral valley with a stream running through its wildflower meadows, and cows with tinkling bells wending their way home to the barn at dusk, we find the hidden enchanted forest of OMA. It is on the side of the mountain where you can find a kind of organic art, expressed through painted trees trunks. As you climb the mountain into the forest, the perspective changes so that each collection trees forms the design of one more paintings- a living art form which, as you move higher and higher into the forest, never ceases to astonish. To get there we have to cross fields, get through woods and discover remote country houses. In one of these country houses the family Garikano-Irastorza are meeting to celebrate something related to the heraldic house that belonged to their ancestors. After lunch the members of the family pose to have pictures taken in front of the family heraldic shield and later on the children start playing in the forest, going down the paths, and just there they find the painted tress, lips, yellow rhombs all together is like a magical rainbow that appears at the end of alchemical experiments. The children are shocked by what they are seeing, but with no care about time they go on playing. The two smallest ones, Begoña and Iñaki, go deeper into the forest and they don t realize that the forest is magic, and this magic consists in a kind of attraction coming from the trees and from which they will never come back, this can occur at midnight. It s 23:15, there is only 45 minutes for the family to get these two children back and to recover their smile on their faces.
