THE TEAM Students preparing a two-year post- Baccalaureate technical course specialized in International Trade and Management at Institution Saint Jude (located in Armentières) and their teachers.
THE PROJECT Saint Jude students work for Northern French companies and help them find export opportunities. Every two years, as part of a pedagogical initiative, Saint Jude which is a technical college- brings about around 20 of its students to New York during one week. This project is educational as well as a good opportunity for the students to make a genuine on-the-job training and improve their skills in an international environment. It requires between 6- to -16- month upstream preparation and a close collaboration between our students and all stakeholders.
THE OBJECTIVES AT THE CROSSROADS OF EDUCATION AND ECONOMIC INITIATIVE THE PROJECT MAINLY CONSISTS IN: Offering export opportunities to regional medium-sized and small businesses. Promoting Northern France through its companies, gastronomy, and culture. learning how business is conducted in the US. Increasing our students adaptation to the current stakes of the job market. Contributing to Charities. Promoting languages ( especially English and Spanish).
HOW TO REACH THEM? By organizing events, charity events, professional shows aiming at promoting local and regional products. By doing some market research for companies in their area. By networking in France and in NYC. By practising educational innovation around a federative project. By establishing partnerships with export professionals. HOW TO HELP US? By adhering to the spirit of the project i.e educating students, preparing them to the international stakes of the job market, and by promoting Lille Region, its companies and economic fabric. By supporting us, by complementing our approach and by allowing us to work towards our goals. By sponsoring us.

POSSIBLE AGENDA OF THE «LILLE REGION IN NEW YORK» WEEK April 27th,2015 : Official launch of the week at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York April 28th, 2015 : Chef Meurin will make a demo at the International Culinary Center (the French Culinary Institute) to showcase our regional gastronomy, savoir faire and products. April 29th,2015 : At the Bernardaud showroom : showcase dedicated to the different business sectors that will be presented and represented by the students : innovation, jewelry, garment, liquors and spirits, food, design etc (sample tasting of local beers, spirits, pastries and other typical foods, exhibitions and demos.). April 30th, 2015 : Surgeons of Hope Charity dinner: Two-star Chef, Marc Meurin, will collaborate to a fund-raising dinner (showcase project to promote our generosity, our gastronomy, savoir faire and typical foods) During the whole week: Professional appointments and meetings with potential partners (prepared in advance by the students during the preparatory phase of exploration, prospecting and market surveys, etc.). NB: Mr Bertrand Lortholary, French Ambassador in NY will attend one of our events. NB: some of our partner companies representatives may be present
