Hair Analysis ELASTICITY TEST Determine the elasticity of your client s hair by performing the following test on wet or : 1. Using both hands, hold a strand of hair at the scalp and at the ends 2. Gently stretch and release the hair 3. Evaluate the results: Hair that stretches easily and returns to its original length has great elasticity Hair that remains slightly stretched has good to great elasticity Hair that breaks or remains stretched has poor elasticity 12

Hair Analysis POROSITY Determine the porosity (hair s ability to absorb and hold moisture) by performing the following test on the client s hair 1. Hold a section of hair between your thumb and forefinger 2. Lightly backcomb the hair strands from ends to scalp 3.
