hack (noun) a smarter, faster and more efficient way to achieve a desired result. introducing LIGHTENING TECHNIQUES Hello Haircolour. Balayage is great way to introduce colour to clients. Paint a couple of highlights around the face with a low developer. Rinse the highlights out when you start to see the colour shifting to avoid getting too bright. Balayage is great for blending a few greys. Target grey hair by specifically placing lightener on grey strands, without touching the scalp.
DANIELLE KEASLING S favourite LIGHT MASTER TECHNIQUE HACKS
Slim to none When using an all over lightening technique, it s best to use baby fine sections, to ensure proper saturation. Tight is right Keep your tension tight on the section you plan on painting, and make sure to only paint the surface layer of the hair. No split ends Make sure your application brush is in good condition, you don t want to get lightener on unintentional hair. Suit up When using the balayage technique, it s okay to use your hands to pull the colour through to the ends as long as you re wearing a glove! Light as a feather When first applying the lightener, start on the mid-lengths, this way you can feather up to the root area with less product. Divide and conquer Use cotton to separate in between lightened subsections to ensure there is no bleeding or overlapping. Abide the guide Use the round of the head as your guide. Take a horseshoe section along the parietal & use brick-lay subsections to paint on the highlights.
DAN CSICSI S FAVOURITE LIGHT MASTER TECHNIQUE HACKS
Ombre all day After doing a classic highlight service paint leftover lightener on the ends of the hair to create a lighter ombre effect. Not so baby fine Avoid painting lightener on the hair that is baby fine or broken around the hairline, as this will bring attention to the breakage. Chasing natural falls Look at the way the hair falls while working, this way you can place colour in the proper places. Bigger may be better Depending on the hair density, it s important to take a big enough section to ensure that the lightener doesn t bleed. Flip the switch Make sure you cut before you colour. By booking your client s trim beforehand, you can tailor the colour specifically to the cut. Less is more The hairline and the part is most important. By applying too many highlights, you can lose the effect you re trying to achieve.
