The SensoRoll is mounted on low friction, highprecision linear guides. Compared to this, the diameter-dependent path-controlled parent roll movement is completely separated from the linear load generation. The principle of function separation is implemented clearly and avoids disadvantageous feedback or influences on the sensitive roll hardness structure.
Winding quality without compromises Sirius TM and its innovative technology The nip load is generated directly by the SensoRoll loading system. The SensoRoll moves exclusively in a horizontal direction. The nip load is applied continuously without changing the loading system. The principle of separation of functions is clearly implemented: nip load control and reel spool movement are separated. The parent roll movement is not force controlled, but precisely diameter-dependent path controlled. The parent roll weight has no influence whatsoever on nip load. SensoRoll TM and its adaptability For a proper web contact and stable web run at high machine speeds with smooth, dense papers or board webs, the SensoRoll is covered with the elastic SensoCover. Through its adaptability to the web profile, the SensoCover extensively seals the nip against penetration of air between the paper layers. This prevents air pockets, wrinkling and similar winding defects. The wide nip, with its low specific load, protects the surface and maintains the bulk. The roll build-up is optimally assisted by the continous center torque. In this way, Sirius allows maximum variability in the selection and application of all winding parameters.
High efficient turn-up systems The turn-up system for the parent roll at constant web speed is a major element of the reel system. With maximum turn-up efficiency it offers an improvement in the overall efficiency of the machine. The EcoChange S TM turn-up system EcoChange S offers high turn-up reliability for a wide range of paper grades. It consists of a swiveling machine-wide web separating device, which cuts the sheet in the open draw between empty reel spool and parent roll during turn-up. The beginning of the web runs immediately in full machine width onto the empty reel spool and forms an ideal basis for the new roll. The EcoChange W TM turn-up system EcoChange W can be used for basis weights starting from 60 g/m 2. It consists of a machinewide beam on which traversing high-pressure waterjet nozzles are mounted. These are cutting the sheet beginning in the center toward the outside ahead of the SensoRoll. The resulting centre gap tail of the sheet is threaded onto the empty reel spool assisted by blow air. The completely wrinkle-free beginning of the web forms an excellent basis for the new roll.

Less broke Sirius and the integrated EcoChange turn-up system minimize the residual slab in the core area of the parent roll and the external slab. This substantially reduces losses. More productivity Thanks to its new roll dimensions, Sirius reduces the number of parent-roll turn-ups required. At the same time, the EcoChange system increases the turn-up reliability. Together with the higher operating speed and reduced broke, this results in a significantly higher productivity.
