Introducing tanning parties can be greatly beneficial for your business; they can provide a boost in sales when the demand for treatments slows down. Whether it s for events such as a girl s night in, a hen night, a wedding party or prom, or even a pre-holiday glow, tanning parties are a fun service for your customers and a fantastic way of doing numerous treatments in one go, with the potential of attaining new or returning clients. We have provided a helpful guide on how to successfully run a tanning party and maximise your profits 1 2 3 When a client books a tanning party with you... ensure that you are aware of the total guest numbers, this will help you organise the amount of stock to order/take along. You may want to decide on a minimum and maximum party size and time slot. A deposit or cancellation fee should be agreed with clients, especially in cases of large numbers. Things to consider before the party: - Are there any first time tanners? If so, you may need to arrange a patch test to ensure the treatment is safe to use on the client. - Make sure the guests are aware of pre party preparations which need to be carried out beforehand. This could be sent via a leaflet with pre and post tan tips to ensure that the skin is ready for tanning. For an added touch, you could even send a free sample of our Polishing Body Scrub for the client to prepare with. - Be prepared! Remember when choosing solution stock, there may be different skin types and therefore not everyone will want the same tan shade; therefore ensure that you have enough in stock (if not allow enough time to order) and take a selection of solutions to provide clients with the best possible tanning experience (and hopefully gain return customers). - Clean all equipment prior, to make sure things run smoothly allowing you to provide a professional service. The Party Procedure: - Be professional and look the part. Display your Sienna X badges on a clean tunic and ensure hair is clean and tied back. Don t forget to take business cards along for the clients, they may be interested in returning to you in the future. -Arriving before the party will allow for early set up. Location is key, good lighting and a spacious, well-ventilated room is the most suitable. However be prepared, consider taking a clip on light and small extractor fan just in case the chosen area is not ideal. - Explain the routine of spray tanning to each guest, whilst getting them to fill out consultation cards, here you can answer any questions, queries or concerns. It is important that each person fills out and signs a consultation card.
