Should you have questions about this section, please contact: Peggy McGilley Email: Peggy_McGilley@anninc.com Phone: 212-536-4284 Adrina Nelson Email: Adrina_Nelson@anninc.com Phone: 212-536-4347 All guidelines, standards, and procedures in this section are Minimum Requirements unless stated otherwise in the Style Specification Package. Failure to follow may result in product rejection at the factory level and/or charge backs at our distribution center. All packaging materials used must not damage, discolor, or otherwise compromise the quality of Ann Taylor, LOFT, Ann Taylor Factory and LOFT products. Do not use any packaging material that contains BHT (Butylated Hydroxytouluene). BHT will cause discoloration of garments. This includes polybags, foam, and adhesive tape, stickers or labels. Each garment must be polybagged individually in a single polybag (except for case/master pack). Some styles or fabrics may not be compatible with, or identified in, the following packaging guidelines. Contact your ANN INC. Quality Department to determine packaging method. Unless other hang tags are specified, SKU tags are the only allowable attached tags. Vents are to be hand tacked loosely closed using a white thread color with an X shaped stitch. Slits are to be hand tacked loosely closed using white thread color with a slip stitch. Garments must be properly pressed before packaging. Garments with Ornamental Ties: Knot or tie bow. Garments with Functional Ties or Drawstrings: Folded Garments. Fully extend appropriate Neck, Waist, or Sweep with Tie or Drawstring. Lay Tie or Drawstring across the width of the garment inside the last fold. 4

GENERAL GUIDELINES (continued) Garments with Self Fabric, No Backing Belts: Place on garment where intended to be worn and tie into single knot, or bow. Garments with Backed Belts with Buckle: Folded Garment Roll belt starting at buckle end (face side of belt on outside of roll). Place in separate polybag. Swift tack polybag to garment at side seam or size label depending on weight of belt. Wrap belt buckle with tissue for protection if necessary. 5

INDIVIDUAL FLAT FOLD General Each garment must be polybagged individually in a single polybag. Use only one fold method per style. Do not use hangers in packaging of flat fold garments. Final fold size of garment & polybag may not exceed carton dimensions. Minimum and maximum carton dimensions along with weight limitation can be found in the Shipping Compliance Guidelines section. Polybags Envelope polybags are preferred. A 3 inch minimum overlap is required when sealing/closing polybags. NOTE: Heat sealing of polybags is preferred if envelope bags are not used. If heat sealing is not available, closure with a tape can be used. Tape must be securely fastened to polybag. We require tape using acrylate adhesive plus cellulose acetate substrate. WE RECOMMEND USING A 3M BRAND TRANSPARENT TAPE THAT FITS THIS DESCRIPTION. Polybags must be sized appropriately for folded garment. They cannot be more than 1 inch larger in width or length than dimension of folded garment when sealed. The following warning must be printed in black and clearly visible on all polybags in English. WARNING: To avoid danger of suffocation, keep away from babies and children. Do not use in cribs, beds, carriages, or playpens. This bag is not a toy. LDPE Air hole at bottom of bag on both sides. Minimum thickness is.0015 mil and/or.05mm. Color must be clear/transparent. Low Density Polyethylene is required material for environmentally friendly bags. The recognized symbol for recyclable is and should be printed on each polybag. 6
