Our new collection is inspired by and dedicated to Blythe s grandmother, Dot (1918-2009). That s why we shot this book in Brooklyn where Dot grew up. In her 1940 honeymoon photo she looks nothing like window dressing on her fellow's arm. She looks like a chic trailblazer ready for an adventure, wouldn' t you say? It was the era that packed away the corset for good, invented women s sportswear and the little black dress, and dressed them both up with fabulous jewelry. This collection pairs opulent pearls and faceted crystals in oh-so-modern ways with lavish dollops of embroidery and ribbon. All meant to be worn effortlessly, of course, whether you're on the soccer sidelines or at a cocktail party. It's a simple way to be stylish, which is oh so Stella & Dot.
