APPEARANCE: * In keeping with the ethos of the school, learners are expected to be neat and tidy at all times. Shirts must be tucked into skirt and not folded in. The top button needs to be secured and the tie needs to be up against the top button. * Girls must ensure that their underwear is not noticeable through their shirts. (Avoid bright colours preferably beige & black) 3. JERSEY: Only plain navy pullover V-neck jersey is permitted. Jackets or fancy jerseys are not permitted. Sleeveless cardigans are not allowed. 4. HAIR: - No fancy hairstyles. - Short hair must be above the collar and well groomed. - Fringes must be above the eyebrow and neatly trimmed. Wisps are not allowed. - No fancy or elaborate hair accessories to be worn to school. Black clips must be worn to keep short hair in place. Only black, Navy scrunchies /bands may be used to tie back hair. - Hair worn below the collar must be plaited. If it cannot be plaited it must be worn in a ponytail. Layered hair must be Secured with 2 scrunchies /bands. - A plain, narrow black alice-band may be worn to keep hair away from the forehead. - Hair should not be tinted or highlighted. - No head gear to be worn eg. Caps, berets, skullcaps, etc. - No buns - No pouffes allowed - Hair extensions are not allowed
5. JEWELLERY: No jewellery is to be worn to school. A school regulation wrist watch and small stud earrings may be worn. Only one pair of earrings is allowed on the lower lobe. Rings, bangles, hooped earings and chains are not allowed. No body piercing allowed. Gold studs on teeth and tongue rings/studs will not be allowed. Religious chains and pendants are not allowed. 6. MAKE-UP: No make-up is to be worn to school. No lip-gloss / coloured labello is allowed. 7. NAILS: Nails must be short and clean at all times. No nail polish to be applied to nails. 8. EYES: No eyeliner (Kajar, eyeshadow, etc.). The wearing of colour contact lens is not permitted. 9. SCARVES Scarves must not be used to hide coloured / streaked hair. Scarves must be worn on the head at all times. 10. SCHOOL BAGS School bags with the Sastri College logo must be purchased by all learners. Available from Gem Schoolwear. Failing to comply with any one of the above will result in the learner being asked to remove the unacceptable item, which will only be returned to the parent after a valid explanation is rendered. 6. Uniform inspection will be carried out on a regular basis after assembly by form educators/management 7. Parents of learners in default on 3 occasions will be requested to call at school to rectify the situation. 8. School tracksuits to be worn at all school sporting events. 9. The tracksuit / tracksuit top is not to be worn with either the summer or winter uniform.
