PREFACE THE DORCHESTER - MARINETTI STORY JULIEN MARINETTI THE JOURNEY OF A REVOLUTIONARY ARTIST 45 PARK LANE THE NEW LONDON SPOT FOR CONTEMPORARY ART EXHIBITION & AGENDA FIRST TIME FOR A FRENCH ARTIST AT 45 PARK LANE OPENING SOON GALERIE BARTOUX LONDON - NEW BOND STREET, MAYFAIR
Let's start in 2010, when two visionaries met; the international artist Julien Marinetti and Francois Delahaye, C.O.O of the Dorchester Collection Group. The partnership began with an original exhibition at the luxurious parisian hotel, plaza Athénée with a giant Doggy John, Julien Marinetti iconic work, guarding the palace front door. Following in 2012, with a second exhibition «PANDAS, ParisChengdu» ran by Galerie Bartoux, a french gallerist who works with the artist for several years and owns over ten galleries in France, New-York, Singapour... This year, the story continues oversea, in London, at the last trendy adress, "45 Park Lane", new born among the Dorchester Collection. Located in the prestigious british area in Mayfair nearby the royal garden Hyde Park, this 3 years-old hotel with its Art-Deco looks was the ideal spot for this reunion.
JULIEN MARINETTI THE DAZZLING JOURNEY OF A REVOLUTIONARY ARTIST Try to connect a studio on the Seine docks, the Grand Palais in Paris, the New York Palace in Madison avenue or the ION square in Chengdu-Sichuan and you'll find yourself through this french paintor-sculptor's road. Some stops-over of his iconic work, the famous Doggy John, these bronze colorfull sculpture known worldwide. Since 2004, Julien Marinetti evolves in the international contemporary stage through the attractive power of these masterpieces. Not only loved by private collectors or public institutions, these incredible pieces bring the artist's art theory: the artistic syncretism - where pictural art is reconsidered through a figurative item, thus giving a new dimension to each of them. A forth dimension. And whatever the model ; a bulldog "Doggy John", death heads "Skulls", teddy bears "Popy", rubber duckies "Kwak" or pandas "Bâ", these sculptures full of symbols and remarkably striking merge in every surrounding as well in private collections as in public spaces. A journey through space and time, reflected by his prolific production(over 600 pieces a year) and his own identity. For Julien Marinetti, the artistic process is constantly evolving, and inherent to some specific academic theories such as the Quattrocento anatomic works or the Bahaus movement with craftmanships theories. From the Académie de la Grande Chaumière to the Beaux-Arts de Paris including his key-meetings with famous artists of the 20th century such as Paul Belmondo, Edmond Heuzé,Jean Dewasne, Julien Marinetti always seeks to constant reflexion, questioning his work, his technic which gives us an original and sharp artistic production. This knowledge and control of such diverse "savoir-faire" make his work a reference for the contemporary art market. «An artist, a real paintor has to succeed in 3 main aspects; composition, color work and creativity»
