Chris Madeira Hi everyone! My name is Chris and I m the Student Coordinator for Global Transition 2016 at Lincoln Center. My family is from Brazil and I was born and raised in New York. I m a rising Junior and an International Studies major with Mandarin minor. Evidently, I love petting dogs. I also love meeting new people, trying new foods, and travelling. I m really excited to have a leading role in GT this year, as I participated as a freshman and volunteered as GTA last year. Can t wait for all of you to meet our team of amazing GTAs. See you in August!

Tatiana Barsukova Hi there! My name is Tatiana. I am originally from Russia. I am a business major. I love meeting new people from different cultural backgrounds. I find it very interesting and that's why I decided to become a GTA. I understand how hard it can be to adjust to a new environment when you study abroad, so I am here because I want to make this transition for new international students as smooth as possible and help them enjoy it and make new friends. I am very proud of Fordham and I am very excited to share this pride with freshmen and welcome them to the Ramily!

Olivia LaBarge Hello everyone! My name is Olivia, I am from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and I am a Sophomore at FCLC. My major, though undeclared, appears to be International Political Economy, and I m excited to use what I learn at Fordham to go into the world and work towards women s equality around the world through education, entrepreneurship, and empowerment. At Fordham, I m the Secretary of the Model United Nations team, which competes in collegiate conferences and is hosting a high school conference for the first time this year(!), and when I m off campus I love to do yoga, walk in Central Park, look at cute dogs in Central Park, eat good food (sometimes in Central Park), and spend hours studying in the coffee shops around here. I m an American student, so this is my first Global Transition, too (exciting!) but I joined the team because it s an awesome program and because being in New York City means we have the world at our fingertips, so why not take advantage? This is going to be a great start to a great year I m excited!

Saya Uotani Hello! My name is Saya and I will be one of your GTAs this summer. I attend Fordham College at Lincoln Centre and am majoring in New Media and Digital Design, minoring in Fashion Studies. I love to dance, sing, and write, and consider myself a pretty creative and theatrical person. I became a GTA because I really enjoyed the program as an incoming freshman, and through it saw how important it was to help others transition not only from high school to college, but also from a completely different country to the US. New York City has so much to offer, and I am so excited for all of you to discover all the amazing aspects of it. See you in August!

Cat Marku Hi! My name is Catherina, but everyone calls me Cat. I'm a mathematics and economics major at Fordham College Lincoln Center. I commute from Long Island, which is great because I live the best of both worlds! I can take a break from the fast paced city life and relax on weekends in the suburbs or do fun city things whenever. I love the beach, am obsessed with frozen yogurt and enjoy exploring parks and museums. I became a GTA because I want to share my positive and overall great experiences at Fordham with everyone. I aspire to help each individual find their passion at what truly is a home away from home.

Ebba Ehrling Hi, name is Ebba and I'm a Pre Law International Political Economy major. I was born in New Jersey, but raised in Stockholm, Sweden. I love to bake strudels, scones, even apple pandowdy and obviously, I'm a little bit of a high school musical fan. Zac Efron has become a fine man, don't you think? I became a GTA because international students are the best and I want to get to know every single one of you!

Zoe Oliveros Hi! My name is Zoe. I am a Sophomore student majoring in New Media and Digital Design. I am an international student who is from the Philippines. I was raised in California but I moved back to the Philippines for my secondary education. Aside from knowing English and Tagalog, I am currently learning how to converse and write in Chinese. My hobbies include playing soccer and tennis. But I love watching films and tv shows for leisure. My taste for entertainment extends from American to Asian (E.g. Korean Drama). I became a GTA because I enjoy meeting new people who I can potentially have a connection with, and therefore create long lasting friendships with them. I was also a global transition participant and I ve made numerous friends who I can casually talk to when I see them in the school corridors or outside of school.

William Ritter I was born in Altus, Oklahoma. From there I lived all over the United States until I moved to Ramstein, Germany. I later moved to Seattle, and then back to Stuttgart, Germany. My dad was pilot in the Air Force, and the rest of my family has served in the military in some capacity. My dad recently retired, and my family now lives in Abu Dhabi. I am currently studying for a major in Middle Eastern Studies with a minor in Arabic. I am a member of the New York Navy ROTC Battalion and I am training to be a pilot in the Navy to follow in my father's footsteps. By daylight, I am a student, but at night I patrol the streets of New York dealing out vigilante justice one swift punch at a time. Star Wars is my life. I look forward to meeting all of you, and I hope that you have a great year. Don't be afraid to ask me about any questions you have about Fordham, New York, or if you just want to chat.

Angelika Lin Hey y all I m Angelika, your upcoming Global Transition Assistant. I am a rising Sophomore, majoring in Communications and Media. I was born in Taiwan, and I moved to Vienna, Austria for a couple of years, then I returned to Taiwan ever since; until college was when I moved to New York. I spent my time on walking around the city, slow cooking, watching operas and drinking cortados at coffee shops. I hope you enjoy New York as much as I do. Global Transition will be an opportunity for you all to get familiar with each other and feel more comfortable to move into the city and the school.

Audrey Fenter Hi everyone! My name is Audrey, and I'm one of the Global Transition Assistants. I grew up in a suburb of Boston, and I'm a rising sophomore and a Humanitarian Studies major in FCLC. Some of my greatest passions are making music (of any kind, I can play 8 instruments), photography/film, and making connections with people! My career goal is to bring and implement creative arts into refugee camps and developing countries that lack any type of art programs. I'm incredibly excited to be working with Global Transition, and I can't wait to get to know everyone in August and share this beautiful city with Fordham's newest students!

Willow Liu Hi, everyone, my name is Willow, and I am a junior student here at Fordham College at Lincoln Center. I was born and raised in Inner Mongolia, China. I am an International Studies major with a Visual Arts minor. This is my fourth year living in the U.S. I love traveling around the world all by myself, and I as well enjoy staying at home for days just watching movies and writing stuff. I also have a great passion for fashion and cosmetics. Living in the New York City is like an exceptional journey to me, I get to explore every bit of this one of the greatest cities in the world. Fordham is a loving community where you will feel welcomed and comfortable. I hope all of you will enjoy Fordham University and the New York City at the same time. Please don t hesitate to ask any questions regarding to Fordham or the New York City, I may not have the exact answer you are looking for, but I will try my best. See you guys in August!

Gladys Bendahan Hi guys! My name is Gladys and I am an international student from the Canary Islands, Spain. I am majoring in International Studies and Economics. Before coming to the US, I lived for a year in the Middle East. I can fluently speak 4 languages and I am now studying my fifth at Fordham. I love classic movies such as The Godfather and Casablanca, and I am crazy about dancing, in particular salsa and bachata. I became GTA because I really appreciate diversity and culture and I am excited to help new students overcome the same challenges I faced when I first came to New York. Excited to meet you all!

Cindy Vazquez Hi, my name is Cindy and I m double majoring in Political Science and Art History. I was born and raised in Northern México, but crossed the Mexican American border everyday to attend school in California. I love board games, sitting on the floor, anything hot sauce related, cooking and braiding people's hair. I became a GTA because I enjoy learning about distinct cultures and interacting with others.i am excited to welcome you into your new surroundings and am happy to help you during your transition into the captivating New York City lifestyle. Ready to meet you, see ya soon! xoxo.

Shaki Usarova Hello, my name is Shakhrizoda (Shaki for short!) and I am Math/Econ major on a Pre Law track. I moved to that states from Uzbekistan when I was 10 years old with my family. I love to hang out with my friends, family and work out during my free time. I also love watching drama shows. I became a GTA because I want to be able to contribute my knowledge and experience of New York to newcomers so they can adjust to Fordham as smoothly as possible. I hope to make friends and have great experiences with them. I want to be as helpful and informative as I can. I cannot wait to meet the incoming international students and have an amazing Global Transition!

Kevin Yang Hi this is Kevin, I'm a marketing major and I am (sort of) a musician. I'm into metal music (as you can see in my picture) and I am a guitarist, a bassist and a drummer in three different bands. I chose to become a GT because I remember how nervous and excited I was before I came to Fordham and I want your first week in Fordham to be a legendary one. I can't wait to meet all of you this summer!

Natty Ngan My name is Natty and I'm a sophomore in Gabelli School of Business, majoring in Consumer Insights. Apart from studying/living in NYC, I am also living in two other countries: Thailand and Singapore. I love to change my hair colour (hint: I might look different when I see all of you in August) and I am obsessed with almost all kinds of potato dishes. As you can see, I became a GTA because I have been in your position and I am excited to share my experiences with all of you. I hope to provide whatever support I can give you and make your transition into a new chapter a fun experience. Refresh yourself during summer and see you soon!

Mega Sidharta Hi, my name is Mega and I m from Indonesia. I m a natural science major. I am also on the pre med track as I am looking into becoming a doctor. One of my hobbies is baking, especially multiple layer cakes. Because Indonesia is such a big and diverse country with many islands, my love of traveling developed since I was very young. One of my favorite things in New York is the large variety of food and that is why I love going out into the city and finding good places to eat. At Fordham, I am a part of the Health and Wellness club and we plan events that help students build a healthier day to day routine. I became a GTA because I wanted to introduce New York City to the incoming students and especially to Fordham.

Katrine Jensen My name is Katrine and I'm a pre health psychology major. I was born in Stockholm, but raised in Copenhagen, Denmark. I got my IB diploma at Copenhagen International School. I choose to become a GTA because international students are not regular students, they are cool students. I took part in GT as well, so I know what it is like to be in your shoes. We are going to have a great time. It's gonna be so fetch to meet you all this summer!

Vajra Ram Mohan Hi everyone! I m Vajra and I m a rising sophomore in the Gabelli School of Business, majoring in Finance. I grew up in India so I know about four languages, and I plan on learning two more this summer. One of the reasons why I chose Fordham was for its location and I ve loved exploring the city ever since I got here there s always something new to see. Global Transition helped me connect with people as international as I was, while making me feel welcomed into the Fordham family. I decided to be a GTA to help incoming freshmen have the same experience. I hope you have a great summer, and remember that I m here to help you with any questions you may have. See you soon! Sawadee ka and hello everyone.

Cullen Ogden Hey! My name is Cullen, I'm an Anthropology and Art major at FCLC going into my Sophomore year. Although I grew up primarily in the southwest US, I went to high school in Seoul, South Korea and graduated early to take a gap semester in the United Kingdom, which sparked my passion for travel and studying culture. I love finding cute coffee shops in parts of the city i've never been to, spending too much time at the Met, and listening to pretty much every type of music under the sun. I was in Global Transition last year and, even as an American citizen who spent most of my time in the US, I found GT to be one of the best parts of my Fordham experience to date, which is why I can't wait to help start your time here at Fordham on an amazing note!
