Canada s Textiles Passed on to family & friends Sold Online or to a Consignment Shop Given to a Non Profit Organization Thrown in the garbage & sent to local landfills
Canada s Textile Volume 3.2 Billion lb of textiles are produced every year. Only 15% of textiles are recycled while 85% ends up in a local landfill. 5-8% of landfills today are textiles, as high as 11% in Nova Scotia.
Shift to Thrift! On average each Canadian disposes of 88 lb of textiles per year. 99% of textiles can be reused and recycled. 100% can be directed to The Salvation Army Thrift Store.
