Oils can be considered as: Vegetable Oils, Esters, Silicones, Synthetic Oils, Essential Oils, Fragrance Oils, Oil-based extracts or actives, Butters and Waxes (must be melted first). Oils may be able to be incorporated at a level of up to 1%, but stability cannot be guaranteed. P owders - talc, kaolin, bentonite and plant powders can be added to change both the texture and the colour of the product. Scrub particles can be added, such as loofah, silica, bamboo, sugar and salt. P owdered or liquid surfactants can be added to give a foaming oily gel. W ater or water-based extracts or actives should be added to a formulation as the last step. Any amount of water can be added to Sucrabase depending on the viscosity and quantity of oil phase required. Water based gels can also be added. ost of the above steps can be undertaken at room temperature and with minimal stirring. Y our product must be ph 4-8 to ensure stability. 9
