Fashion Market Dolce and Gabbana Dennis Basso Marchesa 2

Dolce and Gabbana Dolce and Gabbana, one of the most famous high end brands in fashion world. A luxurious Italian brand founded in Italy in 1985 by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Dolce and Gabanna s house style is a world of sensation, nature, heritage and culture. Both founders of Dolce and Gabbana made their trade market recognizable all over the world, referring to their great versatility and unique glamour designs. Dolce and Gabbana is about two young designers who knew very well how to present their characters throughout garments in such a unique way. Dolce and Gabbana with their glamour designs were and still the first choice for some rock stars of the moment and many other celebrities. Such as Madonna, Isabella Rossellini and Angelina Jolie amongst other. When it comes to Dolce and Gabbana clients, it is always noticeable that Dolce and Gabbana s woman is a strong and confident that she knows very well the fact that she is liked as much as she likes herself. A sexy woman, an extremely feminine with her high heels on all the time. One of the best collections that Dolce and Gabbana has released is the one that has a floral/ garden theme. What makes this collection one of its kind is the colours for this collection, a bold and rich colour. One of the reasons that makes Dolce and Gabbana designs unique is the luxurious fabrics they use such as Satin Backed Crêpe and Printed Cloqué. In addition, Dolce and Gabbana well-known for applying applique in their designs, which gives the fabrics a unique 3-D finish. 3

Dennis Basso Dennis Basso is an American fashion designers. Each collection of this designer has its own inspiration, feel theme and amazing colours. About the designs, it is modern style with nice colours such as crème and light pink. Dennis Basso textiles mostly inspired by southern France. Looking at the resort 2018 collection which has a floral theme makes it interesting for me. What I really like about this collection is the colours of the designs. Using crème, beige and light blue/pink as fabrics to work on makes the designs look so feminine especially when the theme is flowers and leaves. Dennis Basso used several techniques on his designs to produce such a luxurious elegant collection. For instance, using digital stitching, embroidery and printing. Some of these techniques were applied individually in the designs, as some designs were done by only using stitch and other designs were done by using digital print. Dennis Basso designs also have done some amazing designs by using both digital print and embroidery which create elegant textiles for their fashion designs. What makes me really interested about Dennis Basso the inspiration of their designs, I find it so feminine and unique. Especially when it has a floral/botanical theme. 8

Marchesa A fashion empire founded by British born Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig for an elegant and one of a kind nightwear and bridal dresses. This business establishment of Marchesa is established by Georgina s draping and design expertise paired with Keren s textile creations. Georgina and Kerens designs are beautifully done and it is well-known for its femininity. These amazing designs worn not only by celebrities, but by women of all ages. Marchesa designs inspired by some amazing inspirations such as flowers and gardens. Marchesa designs are done by using many techniques but mostly embellishment with embroidery. What makes Marchesa s designs unique is that most of it is done by using 3-D appliques creating a unique texture on their textiles. In addition of using digital print which I really like in their designs especially floral and botanical designs. Marchesa s digital designs are done in a big scale which in my opinion I found it gives the real feel for the theme when it relates with nature. However, colours in Marchesa s designs is perfectly chosen for each collection. You can find bright colourful designs in some collections and you can find these crème, natural nude, light ping and off white in others which gives the client a wider and several choices for different age and personalities. 13

Interior Market Jane Churchil William Morris Laura Ashely 17

Jane Chrchill Jane Churchill designs are worldwide well-known with both classical elegant interiors and contemporary flair. About her textiles for interiors Jane s has created amazing collections with many different themes and inspiration. Atmosphere collection in 2016, a unique collection was inspired by leaves and some flowers in addition of some geometrics designs. Which was mixed together creating special designs. This collection was done using soft colour pallet including metallic such as gold colour in some of this collection designs. When it s comes to clients want and prefer, Jane Churchill has such a great concept related to this. This is what makes me so interested about Jane Churchill designs, as a company they believe that each client has their own taste and different choices. Therefore, they do design individually as clients required depends on what they want. Jane Churchill designs are done amazingly by using many specialist techniques. For instance, using digital embroidery in different ways, besides using prints in other designs. What I found interesting and gives the fabrics such a luxuries finish is the way she mixes both techniques in some designs. 18

William Morris William Morris, William Morris hand printed his early textile designs in the 1880s by reviving the old and notoriously di cult indigo discharge print method. Produced at his Merton Abbey workshops in South Lon- don, Morris favoured natural dyes which faded evenly and aged beautifully. Today, the Morris & Co. archive provides an inexhaustible resource of patterns from which the studio creates authentic reproductions, or may re-scale and re-colour, evolving the designs to appeal to the more contemporary decorator. Working with the experienced and dedicated team of printers at our mill in Lancaster, the studio strives to capture the character and appearance of the block printed originals. Aspects of Morris s life and work also provide the stimulus for new fabric designs which are painted in the studio and exquisitely translated into print or embroidery. Morris & Co. fabrics come in a wide choice from woven tapestry and jacquard qualities, printed linens and prints, all-over silk embroideries and classic cotton damasks, through to lightweight pretty leaf trails and semi-plains. 23

Laura Ashely designs has that feminine feel din their designs, the company theme is floral/botanical using bright colours with soft ones sometimes.
