SIOPOR is the top-of-the range material if your aim is to combine efficient protection and superior comfort. Cold Rain Wind Perspiration SIOPOR garments are created to protect you against pouring rain and fierce wind. Simultaneously SIOPOR offers you optimum comfort due to its excellent breathability. The SIOPOR range consists of a careful selection of different outer fabrics, combined with an appropriate coating which guarantees you optimum protection and comfort during all possible applications. SIOEN uses a combination of two waterproofing & breathing coating techniques for the SIOPOR coating : hydrophylic microporous A waterproof but breathing coating can for example be obtained by a compact HYDROPHYLIC PU (Polyurethane) layer, whereby perspiration is transported in a molecular chemical way from inside the garment to the outside. This happens under influence of an energy difference between the inside and the outside of the garment, due to a temperature and relative humidity gradient. A second and important method is based on a microporous layer. Waterdrops are thousands of times too large to pass through the pores, whilst vapour molecules can pass without problem through the micropores of the coating layer. Here also an energy difference between the outside and inside is essential. SIOPOR garments from SIOEN are taped with the most advanced seam technology ensuring maximum waterproofness. Moreover, the water repellent finishing prevents the outerlayer of the fabric from soaking water. Also dirt, oil, will be repelled by this protective layer so that the garments stay clean for a longer time. 26

SIO-FIT : CLIMATE CONTROL EN471 Hi-Visibility Wear The SIO-FIT Hi-Vis Polo or T-shirt is made of a double layer knitted fabric combining the excellent comfort properties of VILOFT ACTIVE and a polyester layer for guaranteed EN471 fluorescent colours. Moisture is transported away from the skin through the fabric by the capillary action and evaporates. Your body stays dry. 50% viscose 50 % polyester DO YOU RECOGNIZE THIS PROBLEM? For certain types of work, national legislation requires you to wear CE approved Hi-Vis protective clothing, regardless of the weather. The available EN471 clothing is often much too uncomfortable in summer weather conditions Danger of heat stress. These voids create air pockets which guarantee excellent insulation properties. Viloft original was compared with 100% cotton, 100% polyester and 100% polypropylene by an independent test house and by extensive wearer trials. Active workers produce perspiration, which is absorbed by their clothing. When activity decreases body heat will be taken away from the body surface to evaporate the moisture from your wet clothing The body gets cold. HOW DOES IT WORK? The inner Viloft active layer is a light weight blend of 50% Viloft Original Viscose (by Acordis) and 50% Polyester. The microscopic view of the cross section clearly shows the voids or air pockets created by the mixture of round polyester and the unique flat, crenellated viscose Viloft original fibres which explains the specific CLIMATE CONTROL properties of Viloft.
