A mysterious place, black and white, filled with mischievous fireflies. Welded like the five foot fingers a band of buddies turns up. All different, they are of this blessed age when one is not afraid of differences. Their affinities stem from the game, the game calls the tune, in all the ways that enable to discover one another. Scare me! Catch me if you can! Move over it s my turn! Try it if you dare!» In a tender and innocent hullabaloo, everyone looks for, finds, catches, amazes, squabbles, laughs with the others. But who owns the shadow of this enormous hand which seems to decide for them like adults decide for the child? An evil monster, a caring parent, a facetious friend? At the jonction of cultural and linguistic identities, we are all used to creating towards the younger audience. TROBADES invite to discover a playful and poetic world cadenced by dance, acrobatics, theatre and music and inhabited by 5 actors-dancers-funambulists, forged to a powerful body theatricality. Our diversity has led us to find a common artistic material, a unifying theme : complicity, the main subject of the piece. - Complicity to create and share fantastic atmospheres proper to our personalities; - Complicity to overcome communication problems and to enter in a simple language; - Complicity to adjust our differences and to open common areas; - Complicity to play, between individual freedom and curiosity of the other. We want to offer to young audiences in our respective countries a "mesclade" (mix) of forms and means of expression - contemporary dance, circus, music, singing, shadow theater - a concert of our languages, foreign and yet so close! We want to make with TROBADES a poetic journey through all our peculiarities, guided by the game, at the mercy of encounters and discoveries of all kinds where the only necessary muscle is Imagination! Audience All audiences - children over 4 Distribution Choreography: Mariantònia Oliver Performance: Aina Pascual Silva Gràcia Moragues Cantallops Véronique Valéry Mateu Canyelles Sureda Gérard Sanchez Music: Jérôme Dru Costumes: Sûan Czepczynski Lights: Manu Martínez (Baléares) - Jérôme Dru (France) Production Assistants: Rafel Mir (Baléares) - Véronique Valéry (France) Executive Production: Mariantònia Oliver Administrative Production: La Rampe-Tio

Co-Producers TROBADES is a coproduction of : * The Majorcan Cia Mariantònia Oliver (MAO), specialized in contemporary dance, directed by Mariantònia Oliver, project choreographer; * The company LA RAMPE T.I.O. (Théâtre Inter-régional Occitan), from Languedoc (France), specialized in theatrical creations for all and young audiences, defending an Occitan living culture. History During the summer of 2013, in Montpellier, at the initiative of the Euro-regional professional platform Scena Centro, an artistic laboratory designed as a free space for research has provided the opportunity for 6 artists, with diverse backgrounds and disciplines, to compare their techniques, knowledge and creative force in the field of young audiences. This laboratory was under the direction of Mariantònia Oliver, Majorcan choreographer. Discoveries, exchanges, blends of cultural, artistic and linguistic identities, aroused the desire to create together and drew out the promise of a performance. The success achieved at the end of the laboratory, in septembre 2013 at theatre La Vista in Montpellier, sealed the common fate of these six artists. TROBADES project was born : a performance for young audience whose multidisciplinary art form would defy borders and languages. TROBADES resonate in the project languages : it means «meetings» in Catalan, «finds» in Occitan. Artistic Residency A first draft or at least trails for the creation of the show have been tested and developed in the laboratory during the summer of 2013. A second phase of work was carried out during the summer and fall of 2014. TROBADES team settled in for an artistic residency in Maria de la Salut (Majorca) from September 24 to October 20, 2014. During this residency some work steps were presented to the population and many discussions took place TROBADES has been first performed on October 10, 2014 in Alcùdia s auditorium (Majorca). Show s Distribution 2 performances took place in la Fira de Villafranca 2014 (International Festival for Young Audience Living Shows - Majorca) on Novembre 18, 2014 and 6 performances in Theatre la Vista in Montpellier, in November, from 12 to 16, 2014. TROBADES is available from November 2014. Acknowledgements Scena Centro for initiating the projet. The Ajuntament de Maria de la Salut (Majorca) for receiving the artistic residency. The Auditorium d Alcúdia (Majorca) for receiving the technical residency and the première. Jaume Manresa for his watchful eye.

Companies Cia Mariantònia Oliver The company was born in 1989 with a show called Ocho. With Marco Raso, a coprodution between Barcelona, London and Madrid the company toured in theatres and festivals in Spain, Europa and America. In 2000 the company settled in Majorca and began a work marked with a strong social commitment, managing an european festival in rural areas and organising educational projects. The company has since created many shows with an obvious intention to bring dance to a large audience. Among this productions, La Contínua (2001), Poetes, Mapes, La paraula i els peus nus (2008) played in numerous theatres, fairs and national and international festivals. For young audience : Bobot (2000), Rasss, Na llauneta recicla and Petita Lula (2008). Recent shows : nou (2010) for all audiences, now on tour. La Rampe TIO Born in 1974, La Rampe TIO is profesional company who placed Occitan culture at the heart of its artistic approach. On these basis, La Rampe TIO developed a strong, original and diversified way of creation, for a curious and passionate audience and for a population wishing to rediscover emotions brought out by a millenary language and culture. With this cultural position La Rampe TIO brings to its audience a singular perspective. Heritage and contemporary creation are the lines of the company s action to make rediscover the main theatre works in Occitan and make known a contemporary Occitan playwriting. With a policy of openness to writers, creators, directors, the company explore unexpected ways for Occitan creation. Public successes and a remarkable distribution for an independant company (120 to 130 performances each year) confirm the pertinence of the process. With Claude Alranq, director, writer, actor and former headteacher in Département des Arts of Nice-Sophia Antipolis University, the company created in 1999 the profesional degree Acteurs Sud. It s been the first profesional degree created in France in the field of the southern cultures. This experience highlights the company s interest for training projects, regularly developed with students, actors and creators.
