Dear Parents, February 5, 2018 I am very excited to be chair of the costume committee for Annie. This is an extremely fun show and I look forward to working with your child. This packet is to be used as a guide for costume selection. On the next page, you will find a measurement sheet and costume contract. The measurement sheet is extremely important because it helps ensure that the costume pieces we provide for your child will fit well. Please fill out the measurement sheet and contract and return it by February 14 th. In addition to the pieces we provide, we ask that you provide some simple base costume pieces (pants or leggings, undershirt,, etc.), as well as makeup and hair accessories. The costume list is included in this packet by character.** (Hair and makeup needs will be sent home in another letter.) It is expected that your child should have the necessary costume items for their character by March 5th. We will be holding costume parades for each cast on March 6th and March 7th. This will give us plenty of time to review costumes and to make changes before the first dress rehearsal. In addition to requested items, it is expected that your child bring a box large enough to hold their makeup kits, head wear, and. Copy paper boxes work well. Their box needs to have their name, character, and which cast they are in clearly labeled on the box. All students are responsible for returning the costume pieces we provide when the show is over. If that costume is lost or comes back with missing pieces they are responsible for paying for a replacement. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me directly: jdalton@npsct.org. I look forward to a wonderful run! Best, Jessi Dalton ** website, which can be accessed here: http://mkmsdramaclub.weebly.com/costumes.html
Costume Notes: Many students are playing multiple characters. To make costume changes easier, students playing multiple characters will have a base costume and then will add and remove pieces. Please make sure to cross check all of your characters on the following pages. There is no need to buy anything brand new. Shopping at a thrift store will save you money. Costumes should be logo and text free. In addition to the pieces listed, we recommend that actors also wear a fitted tank top and fitted shorts under their costume to make changing easier and preserve modesty. Photos and examples of various costume pieces are available on the website: http://mkmsdramaclub.weebly.com/costumes.html Please label all items from home with your child s name! We recommend using a sharpie marker on piece of masking tape along the inside collar. If you have any further questions regarding costumes do not hesitate to contact me: jdalton@npsct.org.
