Funerals today are very personal, with families having far more input than they used to. One of the biggest changes is in the choice of music with many families choosing specially-chosen recorded music rather than organ music. We suggest that music is played as the coffin enters and then another at the end as the congregation leaves the chapel. Although many funerals require a hymn or two, this isn t a necessity. More families prefer to listen to music with a special meaning and hymns can be replaced with recorded music. It is also poignant to have a quiet piece of music played as the curtains close, as a moment of reflection. Although religious services are still very popular, more families choose to have special poems and personal readings instead. Another idea is the provision of photos which can be displayed in the chapel or maybe your loved one s favourite possessions; a hat, for instance, which is instantly recognisable! We will work alongside your Funeral Director and help in any way we can. We have a comfortable and modern chapel, furnished in oak with seating for 100 people and also have plenty of standing room for large funerals. We also have a large screen in the waiting room where the funeral is relayed to mourners outside the chapel. We have a modern digital music system that can provide almost any music choice. The chapel can provide a fitting environment for any funeral, regardless of faith or religion and we also offer a recording of the funeral on audio CD. We have parking for over 70 cars with disabled parking close to the chapel. We also have a comfortable waiting room and wheel chair access is provided throughout. Ladies, gents and disabled toilets are found in the waiting room, and there are also toilets in the flower court. We also offer baby changing facilities. Burials take place in our traditional cemetery area and granite memorials are dedicated and we have a woodland cemetery where the only memorials are oak. Our Memorials Having our own stonemasons means that all memorials are ordered from us and we have a large range of colours and styles to suit everyone. Oak memorials are also ordered through us ensuring that our memorials are of the highest standard in design and production. Our memorials epitomise the very best of traditional and contemporary cremation memorials available. Memories are personal to you and your memorial should reflect this. Mini Graves A small upright headstone and kerb set provides a distinctive memorial to mark the ashes burial plot of your loved one. These traditional memorials measure approx 2 (60cm) overall and mark the burial of ashes in a private grave. Each design is available in a range of granites and can be made to accommodate one or two vases for displaying cut flowers. The area in front of the headstone can be filled with coloured chippings or finished with soil for planting. A co-ordinating granite slab can be provided as an alternative. Cremation Tablets An exclusive ashes burial plot together with a traditional engraved granite memorial. Inscriptions can be enhanced with motifs, insignia and photographs. A simple, elegantly designed, low maintenance, granite tablet designed to mark the burial of ashes within a garden of remembrance. Designed to fit a standard 2ft (60cm) x 2ft (60cm) concrete foundation. These cremation tablets can be made to hold 1 or 2 integral vases, if required. Available in a full range of colours. Above GroundVaults Unlike other traditional memorials these secure granite vaults hold the ashes urn above ground making them particularly suitable for shorter term leases. These vaults consist of a granite sanctum (AG01) and an above ground mini grave (AG02) that can each hold up to 4 sets of ashes. The vase, bench, birdbaths and sun dial are all designed to hold a single set of ashes. Available in the full range of granites unless otherwise stated. Bird Baths and Sundials Special positions can be found in the garden for these individual memorials. This range of bird baths and sundials reflects a more contemporary collection of memorials. Granite, black marble and sandstone have been used to create a varied and interesting range. Ashes may be buried or scattered beneath the memorial. Garden Memorials A range of hand carved memorials that are ideal to place within communal gardens. These memorials are also often used to mark the ashes burial plot within a private space. Personalising your Granite Memorial All of our granite memorials may be personalised to suit your requirements and personal tastes. For example, you may choose a mini grave from the available options and decide to have an additional flower vase added, or the position of the vase may be changed from the corner to the centre. Alternatively you may wish to remove the vase completely. For the majority of memorials you will be asked to choose a font style for your dedication inscription. Shown here is a very small example of the fonts available to you. A large selection will be shown to you when choosing a memorial. You will also be asked to choose a colour for the font. This will usually be gold, silver, white or black and will depend largely on the colour of the granite you have chosen. For that extra personal touch you can add a photograph of your loved one to their memorial. This may be done by a photo-plaque. The photoplaques are available in a range of sizes to suit all of our granite memorial options. The photograph may be in full colour or monochrome black and white. You may also decide to have a frame around your plaque with a choice of designs and colours to suit all tastes. You may also add a design to your memorial which will be etched into the granite. There are a wide range of sample designs to choose from available at the crematorium. Alternatively you may have a design of your own that you would like incorporated. 12

However, it is important to remember that all materials are naturally formed and may differ slightly in texture or colour from the examples shown. Living Memorials Communal Shrub Beds Shrubs and bushes provide a traditional form of remembrance. They have been arranged in communal beds into which dedication plaques may be placed. Cremated remains of loved ones may be scattered nearby. Trees A variety of trees have been planted for dedication. We offer either woodland trees in our woodland belt, some of which are mature varieties, or ornamental flowering cherry trees in more formal parts of the garden. Log edging can be provided around the woodland trees and cobbles are provided around the cherry trees. A granite or bronze plaque is provided with either option. Ashes can be interred at the memorial if required. 14

Personalising your Living Memorial Family Gardens and Beds These are one of our most popular memorials. These consist of a private area dedicated to one person or family. The beds are smaller options, edged with cobbles and planted with either a patio standard rose or a standard shrub. The gardens are a larger memorial and these are planted with an assortment of small shrubs and bedding. Both options come complete with a granite or bronze plaque. There is also the opportunity to make the memorial more unique by adding an alternative boulder or marker, or even a bird bath or sun dial. Ashes can be interred at the memorial if required. Each of the living memorials have a dedication plaque included within the price. However it is possible for you to personalise your chosen memorial with a range of granite boulders, pebbles, carved stones and vase blocks that can be engraved with the dedication of your choosing and placed with your living memorial. Each of these items is priced differently. Please speak with one of our trained team members who will be only too happy to talk you through the options. A colour or black and white photograph of your loved one may be included on a bronze dedication which can be added to a memorial if desired. 15

Wooden Benches The dedication of a bench has been a popular way of remembering a loved one s life for many generations. Wooden memorial benches are available and located within the Gardens of Remembrance, in areas of peace and tranquillity. The wooden bench may be dedicated with an inscribed bronze plaque. Barbican This is our newest memorial option. The barbican is the central feature in our Healing Garden and is created from Honeycomb-coloured granite. On this barbican are the tropical brown plaques which can be inscribed with the wording of your choice. A range of emblems can be added for a small cost. Also in this area are granite benches and planters for dedication. A gently flowing water feature sits in the corner giving a feeling of peace and quiet. 16

Book of Remembrance The Book of Remembrance is on view daily, 365 days of the year, in a display cabinet in our Book Chapel. The book provides an inexpensive yet permanent and dignified memorial with entries recorded by hand on every day of the year. Example Entries Entries can also be made for loved ones whose funeral took place elsewhere, as it can provide a place of remembrance for families who have become separated or moved apart. The book consists of a number of hand made, richly-bound volumes and has a page for every day of the year. Usually, the entry is placed on the date of death but other anniversaries or dates of importance may be chosen. The pages are turned daily. Two, five or eight lines may be chosen and a floral motif or suitable badge may form part of a five or eight-line entry. Families often choose to have an entry in the main book together with a number of memorial cards and books for close relatives and friends. Examples Emblems 17

Miniature Books & Memorial Cards The Miniature Book of Remembrance and memorial cards are intended as personal keep-sakes or for sending to friends and relatives who cannot easily visit the Chapel of Remembrance. Both bear a copy of the inscription in the main book. The Miniature Book also contains extra pages for future entries to be added so that a family record can be created. Personal Memorials Collection We understand just how much you treasure the memory of your loved ones and scattering of their ashes can be such a final farewell. We now offer a unique range of gold and silver jewellery, along with a collection of stunning crystal memorials. A small amount of your loved one s ashes are used to create a personal memorial for you to treasure forever. We have pioneered and patented the process of fusing a small amount of ashes into crystal and precious jewellery, providing a unique and precious keepsake as a memory of your loved one. All silver items are composed of sterling (.925) silver and gold items of 9ct (.375) yellow gold and are assayed according to British law. The Eternity CrystallureTM used to encapsulate the ashes of your loved one in our range of memorial jewellery, has a delicate touch of sparkle and is resistant to breakage during normal wear. Memorial Crystal Jewellery The process requires only a small amount of ashes, typically two teaspoons per item ordered. Any ashes unused in the process will be returned to you with your finished memorial, together with a signed authentication card. If you have any questions or special requests, please do not hesitate in contacting the crematorium who will be only too pleased to deal with them. Caskets, Urns and Keepsakes The crematorium offers a range of caskets and urns for burial or for removal and safe keeping of your loved ones cremated remains. A range of various sized scatter tubes are also available. A selection of various designs and sizes of keepsake are also available for those who wish to keep a small amount of their loved ones cremated remains whilst the majority are interred or scattered. 22
