Ch-36, Sh-13 1/2, Slv 23, L-38. (Tears around shoulders, collar worn, hole in pocket flap, period back widening) fair. $300 - $500 296 LADY'S SILK EMBROIDERED WAISTCOAT FRONT, 18th C. Cream silk faille decorated with colorful posies bordered by "S" scrolls of floral vines, eleven embroidered self buttons, buttonless flap pockets lined in linen, backed in cream twill. Petticoat lower portion having bands of raised lines between rows of serpentine couched white yarn, inside waistband inked "Grellian 1860", two hook & eye closures, W-22, L-33, (tiny mend) excellent. Chemise, probably antebellum, having boat neck with narrow tucks, short sleeve with ruching, tucks and ruffle, bib with matching trim and center band of broderie anglaise, B-40, L-48. (Tiny tears hidden by bib) otherwise excellent. $200 - $400 302 TRAINED GAUZE WEDDING GOWN with SHIRRED BODICE, 1860's. 2-piece white cotton, the bodice with vertical shirring front, back and on the long sleeves, sleeveless twill under-bodice with two bones, hooks & eyes. Unlined skirt with three hem ruffles edged in cream ribbon. B-31, W-20, skirt L-42 with 18 inch train. (Tiny hole in skirt, ribbon frayed in parts, bodice snaps not original, wear behind inside bodice hooks, skirt missing hook) very good. $500 - $600 303 LADY'S WHITE GAUZE BLOUSE and VEST, 1860's. The blouse having vertical pleats front and back, long corded and shirred sleeve, center front button & loop closure hidden under placket trimmed in

White cotton, the long sleeve dress with slight train having lavish ruching and broderie anglaise on the collar, yoke, front placket and deep cuff, matching trim decorates the chemise on yoke, cap sleeve and placket, cuff of drawers. Dress B- 42, L-55 to 61, chemise L-42, drawers W-25, L-31. (Dress has small brown spot on placket and at hem, tiny holes right shoulder, soiled hem) good-excellent. $400 - $600 305 LONDON MAKER SILK and LACE EVENING GOWN, LATE 1860's. Ivory bengaline with short ruched and puffed sleeve, the boned bodice with inside front closing corset and side hook & eye closures, covered in guipure with pleated chiffon and satin ribbon trim, plain gored skirt. Petersham stamped "Robes Miss L. Lake 58 Halsey St." with crown. B-36, W-36, skirt L-43. (Minor spot on bodice, small faint stain and pinhole on skirt, missing one shoulder bow) very good. $400 - $600 306 CIVIL WAR ERA TRANSPARENT WOOL PLAID DAY DRESS. 1-piece chestnut and white having bell sleeve with ruffle trim and green binding, bodice and hem with ruffle, front closure with ten Dorset type buttons, bodice lined in silk, B-33, W-22, L-56. (Several holes including two dime size, small split on bust, underarms discolored, period mend at waist, hemline wear) fair. $300 - $400 307 CIVIL WAR ERA FANCY SILK BROCADE EVENING GOWN. Green-grey taffeta 1-piece with short sleeve straight end bodice, the skirt having deep applied ruffle with elaborate purple and grey brocade floral, brocade and black lace trims the open neckline and sleeve, brown cotton bodice lining and hem band with braided trim. From Salem, MA family. B-35, W-26, L-58. (Skirt mostly unpicked, spots, stains and discolored areas, two tiny holes) fair. $400 - $600 308 INFANT'S SILK CLOAK with ATTACHED CAPE, 1868. Brown taffeta having wide satin band with woven check around edge of cape, braided cord trim, front closes with three pair dorset buttons and woven cord frogs. L-42. Illustrated in Godey's Lady's Book, 1868, p. 218, fig. 14, "Infant's Cloak". (One button replaced, silk lining torn) good. $100 - $200 309 TWO WHITE COTTON PETTICOATS, 1869 and LATE 19th C. The earlier trained and having knife pleated hem ruffle below a band of white embroidered floral devices on an oval repeat, W-26, L 39-49. The later with hip yoke, bands of horizontal tucks alternating with openwork embroidered ribbon, the lower portion of broderie anglaise floral and circular medallions, W-25, L-41, (several mends and tiny spots). Good-excellent. $200 - $300 310 FOUR CHILREN'S BODICES 19th and EARLY 20th C. One c. 1850 short sleeve cotton with peplum in brown, red and cream stripe, (stain). 1860's white dobby cotton with long full sleeve. 1880's blue velvet fitted jacket with collar and lustered portrait buttons (two replaced). 1900's white cotton high neck net and lace with drawstring waist. Fair-excellent. $200 - $300 311 MAN'S BUFFALO FUR COAT, LEAK MFG. CO., 1890-1900. Full length dark brown fur western range coat having quilted lining with batting, four frog and cord closures. The Leak Fur Manufacturing Co. burned to the ground in 1901. Ch-48, Sh-20. (One frog missing, wear at neckline and cuffs) skins still pliable, excellent. $300 - $500

Lush silk with loop and button closure at neck and at side of wide fold over collar, tabbed button cuff and pockets, back panel with buttons over wide attached self belt. Relined in white satin. Label "The C. F. & M. Co. Redfern Highest Grade" B-40, L- 43. (Wear to belt) good. $500 - $800 313 PAISLEY PRINTED SILK and LACE HIGH NECK GOWN, c. 1902. 2-piece brown with black and white stylized paisley print, boned silk bodice with elbow length pleated bell sleeve and bolero front over cream silk and Tenerife type lace high neck front and long sleeve, trimmed with bands of lace and black silk. Double skirt with bow having cut steels and long fringed ties over front tucked panel. Label "Aitcheson". B-34, L-24, skirt L-38. (Few breaks to lace, bodice lining shattering) good. $350 - $450 314 PRINTED SILK DAY DRESS and PELERINE, 1840's. Cream and nut brown floral printed silk having a woven plaid design, green silk piping, bodice with side bones and collared sleeve (short sleeves unfinished hem, likely were long), tiny pocket in skirt front, bodice lined in muslin, matching pelerine. (Torn under one arm, some small holes in hem area) good. $300 - $400 315 LADY'S FLORAL PRINTED COTTON WRAPPER, 19th C. Black with vertical bands of serpentine flowers in pale pink and green, with ruffled cuff and hem. (Small splits, seams need mending) good. $100 - $200 316 YOUNG LADY'S STRIPED SILK DRESS, 1870's. 2-piece pale gold taffeta with tan and black stripe, the polonaise bodice trimmed with self ruffles, lavender ribbon, and domed lavender buttons, skirt with two hem ruffles and matching ribbon trim. (Silk fragile around shoulder, small tear, dark and light spots, polonaise lining torn, hem relined) fair. $150 - $250 317 SILK BUSTLE DRESS, 1880's. 2-piece brown figured silk, with peplum and hem pleats, lustered glass buttons. Good. $200 - $300 318 RESTYLED FIGURED SILK EVENING GOWN, LATE 19th C. Pink taffeta embroidered with tiny green diamonds having asymmetrical boned bodice with short sleeve trimmed in lace and green satin ribbon, trained skirt with decorated front panel. (Soiled, fabric removed from skirt, waistline fragile) fair. Together with a 2-piece blue silk day dress, also restyled, good. $300 - $400 319 TRAINED BLACK LACE EVENING GOWN with SEQUINS, c. 1905. 2-piece dotted net with lace insertions and velvet trim over cream silk faille: Boned square neck front closing bodice with puffed shoulder, ruffled 3/4 sleeve decorated with sequins, velvet bands and shell pattern lace. Skirt with two wavy bands of floral lace, ruffled hem with velvet bands. Petersham stamped "L. A. Colt Cambridge". B- 36, W-24, Skirt L-48, Train-53. (Net on skirt numerous tears, splits to silk at waist and neck) fair. $300 - $400 320 PAQUIN CUTWORK SILK and LACE EVENING COAT, c. 1905. Cream silk satin with cutwork having brown embroidery and silk cord lace, with wide bell sleeve, scalloped hem and net insertion, silk charmeuse lining. Label "Paquin 3 Rue de la Paix. Paris". B-40, L-40. (Silk losses, stain on sleeve, many broken brides, lining replaced) fair. $500 - $700

Cream cotton net with short sleeve and square neck trimmed in gold lame, having allover raised gold dots and bands of lace-like stitching, no under dress. B-34, W-26, L-49. Princess styled natural linen with three quarter sleeve and neck trimmed in crochet lace, alternating vertical bands of lace and cutwork, two low tiers on skirt, bodice front embroidered in pale pink, blue and white, and shaped with three horizontal darts, back shell buttons. B-36, W-26, L-55. (Few barely perceptible stains) excellent. $300 - $400 323 LADY'S WOOL SUIT with HOBBLE SKIRT, c. 1910. Forest green melton having single breasted jacket with cutaway front, curved long collar and two button closure, gently gathered into applied waist band, faux pocket trim, lined in floral printed silk. Skirt having sewn pleats at the high unbanded waist, faux buttons to hem over snap closures. Label "J. Jacobs & Co. New York". B-38, W-25, skirt L-43. (Several moth holes, broken button) good. $300 - $400 324 TRAINED VELVET BELLE EPOCH GOWN with JEWELED BODICE 1913. Lush royal purple panne silk having short sleeve silk lace V-neck bodice asymmetrically draped in gold metallic mesh, high jeweled midriff band with center clear and magenta paste butterfly, hobble skirt layered over short train. Label "Joseph 632 Fifth Avenue New York CYCLAMEN". B-34, high W-28, front L-62, back L-71. (Left side magenta set pastes of the period but replaced, drape possibly altered) otherwise excellent. $1000 - $1500 325 CUT VELVET and SATIN EDWARDIAN GOWN with NEEDLE LACE TRIM. 2-piece black silk, the wrap front bodice having lace high neck insert and elbow length sleeve, wrap front skirt with wide satin edge and hem band, short train. Petersham stamped in gold "Fuechsl, Baltimore Md." B-38, W-30, skirt L-42 with 5 inch train. (Net lining in bodice torn) very good. $300 - $400 326 EDWARDIAN JET BEADED DUCHESS SATIN DRESS and JACKET. Black silk long jacket having scrolling beadwork on rounded collar, deep notched wide lapel, hem of slight bell sleeve and attached sash with beaded fringe, three beaded buttons with loops, lined in ivory silk damask. Sleeveless long dress with ivory silk bodice (bodice replaced-likely matched lining silk), A-line skirt with long beaded over panels at sides. B-38, W-32, dress L-53, Sh-16, Slv-24, jacket L-36. Excellent. $800 - $1000 327 LADY'S VELVET INDOOR MITTENS, 1780's, BEADED MITTS 1820's. Black silk with curved top and pointed end, with an intricate design in metallic gold cord, 11 1/2 x 5, (some wear). Ecru crocheted cotton thumbed mitts with red and blue beaded design, 4 1/2 x 6, (minor bead losses, light soiling). Good. $200 - $300 328 EXOTIC VELVET CAP with GOLD METALLIC TRIM, 18th C. Blue velvet with an applied heavy gold metallic floral garland, the top of crown with flowerhead and long gold tassel, lined in muslin. (Velvet very worn, some trim loss) fair. $100 - $200 329 METALLIC BROCADE SILK CAP, 18th C. Ivory satin having blue and green floral brocade with large silver metallic chevron ground, linen homespun lining. 6 x 6. (Minor soil) excellent. $100 - $150

330 TWO PAINTED IVORY FANS, 18th-EARLY 19th C. Both ivory sticks painted on both sides, joined by tapes: One with figures playing bocce with al fresco dining table. One with waterfront vendors. Both reversing to landscape. Sticks 7 1/4 long. (Tapes broken) painting excellent. $200 - $300 331 CALASH BONNET, EARLY 19th C. Brown cotton shirred over seven cane ribs with back bow detail and chin ties, silk ribbon to raise and lower in a single piece, unlined. 10 x 12 with 6 inch bavolet. (One broken rib, silk ribbon very torn) otherwise excellent. $150 - $250 332 GOLDEN STRAW BONNET with PLAID SILK TRIM, c. 1850. Finely woven straw with ruched plaid taffeta band and bavolet having applied straw braid and net lining, embroidered net trim around face. 9 x 10. (Silk has small tears at back of neck, minor stitching loss to straw. Excellent. $300 - $400 333 SILK DRAWN BONNET, c. 1850. Green shirred satin with narrow ribbing trimmed with green and white silk ribbon and cloth rose with pink and green feathers, wide dusty rose silk ties. (One tie torn) overall excellent. $300 - $400 334 LADY'S PROVENCAL FLORAL PRINTED CAP, MID 19th C. Stiffened cotton with cream, pink, grey, black and brown floral on terra cotta ground, lined in linen, (only traces of red silk binding and bits of ties remain) very good. $200 - $300 335 TWO BROWN SILK DRAWN BONNETS, MID 19th C. One having ribbed foundation, lined in cream, red and green plaid silk taffeta and linen. 9 x 13 with 3 1/2 inch bavolet, (ties missing, few tears in plaid silk). One quilted satin with front self bow, brown ribbon bow at back, having black, red and green plaid lining, (one ribbon tie torn, back bow ends frayed). Good-excellent. $200 - $300 336 LADY'S CIVIL WAR ERA SPORTY HORSEHAIR HAT. Ivory coiled oval with tiny crown, having black silk ribbon with picots. 7 3/8 x 9 5/8. (Tiny spot and scattered pinholes) very good. $150 - $250 337 LADY'S INFORMAL HAT, 1860's. Fine leghorn straw with scalloped edge, decorated with twin bands of green velvet, a woven horsehair flower and lace. 9 x 6 3/4. (Lace damaged) otherwise excellent. $200 - $300 338 LADY'S BROWN MACRAME STRAW HAT, c. 1869. Oval form having rolled edge trimmed with brown velvet ribbon, looped straw rosettes and a macrame cone decoration. Label "Paris E.J. Denning _ New York". 10 1/4 x 7. (Straw unstitched in small areas, tiny break at tip of cone, label partially illegible). Very good. $150 - $250 339 TWO FLAT CROWNED HATS, 19th C.
