Electronic manuals will not have these attachments.

Page3 GENERAL GUIDELINES IMPORTANT CLEANING & MAINTENANCE Always keep the wood floor as dry as possible - for best results, follow the enclosed cleaning instructions DO NOT USE EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF WATER If under floor heating has been installed DO NOT EXCEED 27⁰C AT THE FINISHED FLOOR LEVEL CARE PLEASE NOTE PROTECTION Due to the risk of self-ignition it is important that any oil wetted cloths are soaked in water and disposed of in a tightly closed container after use. NEVER wash the floor with water only use the cleaning materials recommended by The Solid Wood Flooring Company NEVER cover the floor with any impervious materials which could cause the boards to sweat and affect the structure of the boards

Page4 NEVER create potential Hot Spot s by placing any thick or rubber backed rug s on the finished floor which could cause a heat build up and damage the structure of the boards. The Solid Wood Flooring Company can supply felt pads for the feet on machinery or furniture CLEANING A NATURAL OILED FLOOR DAY TO DAY MAINTENANCE The objective of cleaning the floor is to remove any contaminants on the floor. This may sound obvious, but many people don t remove the contamination and simply move it around using a mop! If the contamination is not completely removed during cleaning, or the wrong materials are used, then residues could build up on the floor making it unsafe, unhygienic and aesthetically unpleasant. A quick sweep or brush will remove any loose dirt or grit. If you use a vacuum use the soft brush attachment so that you do not scratch the wood surface. Clean using a diluted solution of Timberex Bio C. This is purpose-made to quickly close the pores of the wood and protect it against dirt and the penetration of liquids. Shake the bottle thoroughly and mix 100ml of Timberex Bio C with 5 litres of lukewarm water. Work with 2 buckets: one with the Bio C water and one with rinse water and use a well rung out mop or cloth. NEVER OVER WET THE FLOOR Mop over the floor with the Timberex Bio C water and rinse out in a bucket with clean rinse water. Rinse water should be changed regularly to ensure that any contaminants are completely removed.

Page5 Remove dirty Timberex Bio C water using the well rung out mop and repeat as above. Allow the floor to completely dry before it is put back into use. Bio C can be used in machines if necessary REGULAR MAINTENANCE OF A NATURAL OILED FLOOR Floors which have been oiled for the first time should be treated with Timberex Satin Oils after 6 12 months and thereafter once a year. Stir the Timberex Satin Oil well before use Floors should be free from any barriers to penetration Clean the surface by vacuuming and cleaning with Timberex Bio C, damp wipe the entire floor and allow it to dry. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO OVER WET THE FLOOR APPLICATION 1. Apply the first coat of Timberex Satin Oil using a brush, pad or roller. Accidental splashes on surrounding surfaces must be removed at once. 2. Apply a second coat after 20 45 minutes. Apply coats until the wood will not absorb anymore oil. The oil must not dry between coats. 3. After another 20 45 minutes, thoroughly buff the wet surface using a buffer and medium grade nylon pad at approximately 150 rpm. This can also be completed manually. Remove all unabsorbed Timberex Oil immediately with cloths, leaving a matt finish. Timberex Satin Gold Mousse can be used to help remove accidental marking.

Page6 CARE PLEASE NOTE Due to the risk of self-ignition it is important that oil wetted cloths are soaked in water and disposed of in a tightly closed container after use. CLEANING VERY DIRTY OILED FLOORS If your floor becomes very grubby due to heavy wear/dirt/grease etc you can get it looking like new again by following the process below. A Natural Oiled floor should be regularly maintained/ replenished normally once a year, but more often when it comes to floors exposed to extremely hard wear. Thoroughly sweep/vacuum the floor Shake the bottle thoroughly and mix 250ml of Timberex Boi C with 5 litres of lukewarm water. It is recommended to work with 2 buckets: one with the Bio C water and one with rinse water and use a well rung out mop or cloth. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO OVER WET THE FLOOR Mop over the floor with the Timberex Bio C water and rinse out in a bucket with clean rinse water. Rinse water should be changed regularly to ensure that any contaminants are completely removed. Remove dirty Timberex Bio C water using the well rung out mop and repeat as above. Allow the floor to completely dry before it is put back into use. Bio C can be used in machines if necessary.

Page7 CLEANING VERY BADLY SOILED OILED WOOD FLOORS If your floor has become so grubby that normal cleaning methods will not remove residues, then it may be necessary to strip back the Oil and re-apply new oil. This is an effective solution that deep cleans the floor without the need for sanding the surface. However in extreme circumstances the only solution might be to sand the floor and re-apply oils. PREPARATION Clean the surface by vacuuming and damp wipe the entire floor using a very well rung-out cloth, and allow the floor to dry. APPLICATION Use Timberex Oil and Wax Remover It is advisable to test a small area first to ensure that the desired result is achieved. The product can be mixed with up to 50% cold water, although the more oil or wax that has to be removed, the less water is needed. Any diluted mixture should not be allowed to stand for more than 1 hour before application.

Page8 1. Apply the concentrated or diluted liquid with a cloth or mop 2. Leave for 15 minutes to allow the solution to soften any residue 3. Buff the surface carefully using a RED (medium coarse) nylon pad to remove the oil or wax residue. 4. For areas with large amounts of oil or wax on the surface, it might be necessary to use a BROWN (coarse) nylon pad 5. Remove any excess using a cloth or mop. 6. Rinse the surface carefully TWICE with CLEAN water and Timberex Bio C Cleaner 7. Wipe dry with a cloth 8. In EXTREME situations, it might be necessary to repeat steps 1 4 for the desired effect. 9. When the treatment has finished, we recommend to leave the surface to dry overnight. As soon as the surface is dry, it can be treated with a new layer of oil or wax for renewed protection. CARE PLEASE NOTE Due to the risk of self-ignition it is important that oil wetted cloths are soaked in water and disposed of in a tightly closed container after use.
