Given the approaching end of the mine s life, this matched pair is a significant legacy of the unique fancy coloured diamonds produced in this remote part of the world. For instance, this year will feature more than 24 Japanese exhibitors occupying approximately 270 square metres of exhibition space a 50% increase over the previous edition. These jewellers are endorsed for stringent adherence to clear policies for refunds, practice of providing detailed cost breakdown and knowledgeable sales staff, amongst other criteria. Themed Celebrating SG50, this year s Singapore Jewellery Design Award (SJDA), comprising of three categories, will be presented to the winners on the first day of the show. As the supporting event for SJDA, the Singapore Jewellery & Gem Fair 2015 will showcase a selection of outstanding designs from the competition. Winners are also given the exceptional opportunity to have their designs manufactured into jewellery pieces that will be sold under established brands in the market today. For the first time, the Diamond Exchange of Singapore will be hosting a charity dinner on 22 nd October 2015 at the Marina Bay Sands in conjunction with Singapore Jewellery & Gem Fair 2015. Titled Diamonds in the Rough, the event celebrates SG50 and comprises a charity auction whereby proceeds will go towards the Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT) Children s Fund. SG50 Exhibition: fascinating showcase of Singapore s jewellery heritage For the first time at the fair, the SG50 Exhibition will feature Singapore s heritage in the arts of fine jewellery making. In commemoration of the nation s Golden Jubilee, the exhibition will give visitors a rare peek into Singapore s rich and fascinating history in jewellery through a unique showcase of vintage jewellery and rare antiques, which might not been seen by the public.
