REPORT ON INDIA PAVILION AT VOD 2015

The first edition of VICENZAORO Dubai opened at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) was formally inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Hasher Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Director General of the Dubai Department of Information, in the presence of top management of Fiera di Vicenza, DWTC and DV Global Link. VICENZA ORO DUBAI 2015 commenced on 23rd April, 2015 with an eye-catching line of global gold and jewellery companies gathering for an event which further consolidated Dubai s as of one of the world s leading luxury destinations and the undisputed jewellery capital of the Middle East and wider region. A packed calendar of events, seminars, business meetings and exclusive social events unfolded under the guise of the four-day exhibition, which covered more than 12,000 square metres of exhibition space and was with more than 500 brands from 20 countries exhibiting the very latest in high range jewellery over four days, VICENZAORO Dubai which runs April 23 26 at DWTC also decked up with informative seminars, business meetings and exclusive social events. More than 6,000 local, regional and international visitors, from which major buyers from over 110 countries descended on the high-end jewellery sourcing platform, with leading international traders commented that the event had opened a new chapter in the global jewellery sector. A top-tier contingent of buyers from the UAE, India, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, Lebanon, Turkey, Egypt, Syria, China, Russia, Jordan, Azerbijan, Kuwait, Algeria, Bahrain, Afghanistan, Thailand, Yemen, Australia, Qatar and Iraq, amongst others, flocked to the four-day showcase, as the inaugural event rubberstamped its pre-debut billing as the leading B2B jewellery platform for the Middle East, Africa, Central and Southeast Asia, and Russia. Attendees encountered a series of cutting-edge innovations throughout the entire global jewellery industry production chain, as more than 500 top brands from over 25 countries nations exhibited their latest collections and products across four clusters: Global Brands, Fine Jewellery & National Pavilions, Gemstones & Diamonds and Packaging & Supply.

VICENZAORO Dubai 2015, a new jewellery show organised by DV Global Link - a joint-venture company between Fiera di Vicenza and the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). A collaboration between two of the world s leading trade event organisers and managers in DWTC and Fiera di Vicenza, the new Super Show has attracted support from high-level partners including Dubai Multi Commodity Centre (DMCC), a government organisation that promotes trade in the region; Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group (DGJG), a non-profit association that supports Dubai s status as the City of Gold and a key global jewellery trading hub; and L Azurde, a Saudi Arabian company and market leader in the distribution of jewellery across the MENA region. Why Dubai? Dubai has quickly established itself as one of the leading global centers for trade of gold, diamonds and precious stones. Dubai is the most suitable destination for trading of gems & jewellery in the Middle East region considering the Emirate's ideal location between the producing and consuming nations along the 'New Silk Route' and its unrivalled infrastructure including world-class cargo facilities, ports and airports that connect to over 220 destinations. In 2014, India's exports of gem and jewellery accounted for US$ 36.05 billion. Total net exports to Middle East for 2014 accounted for US$11590 million in which exports of diamonds stood at US$ 1972 million; Gold jewellery exports were staggering US$ 8547 million whereas Exports of coloured gem stones accounted for US$ 7.13 million, and Silver Jewellery stood at US$ 254.74 million.

INDIA PAVILION The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), the apex body of gem and jewelry industry in India, in its effort to cater to the rapidly emerging Middle East Gems & Jewellery market organized the Indian Pavilion at the 1st edition of VicenzaOro scheduled in Dubai from the 23rd to the 26th of April 2015. At VoD this year, the Indian Pavilion showcased 98 leading Indian manufacturers & retailers spread across 136 booths/1224 sqm, who exhibited a vast array of diamonds, gems & jewellery developed especially for the visitors to the VoD show. Press Conference : During the Press Conference at VOD 2015 on 23rd April 2015 Mr. Pankaj Parekh, Vice Chairman, GJEPC, stated, "Indian Gem & Jewellery industry accounted for exports worth US$ 36 Billion in 2014 and Middle East accounts for 30% of India's Gem & Jewellery Exports, marking it the largest export destination for the industry in current times. Dubai is the largest trading center for the GCC. GJEPC is pleased to collaborate with Vicenza Oro Dubai and present Indian contingent that showcases India at its best, its expertise and proficiency in Gems & Jewellery". INDIA EVENING: GJEPC also organized an 'India Evening' in association with VOD on 25th April at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai. A 'by invitation only' networking evening was exclusively for hosted buyers visiting VOD, dignitaries along with domestic and international media. GJEPC s aim was to create a perfect platform for nurturing business relations for Indian Exporters through India Evening.

GJEPC Promotional Booth no. F193, F191 The Council had its promotional booth of 18 sqm at the venues where-in India Pavilion at International Exhibitions, IIJS 2015 and other Council s events were promoted. It was also utilized as a meeting venue with various Intl organizations. The booth was manned by a multilingual hostess, to attend to the queries of the visitors and to give important information on India Pavilion and to direct the interested visitors to India Pavilion. Exhibitors Lounge: Exhibitors Lounge was created in the middle of the India Pavilion. This lounge was used as business meetings by the exhibitors and visitors of India Pavilion.
