the history The Melissa s brand was started by Mark and Melissa van Hoogstraten in 1996 when they opened their first Melissa s store in Kloof Street, Cape Town. The décor is fresh and colourful and the atmosphere warm and vibrant. Melissa s represents a kind of oldfashioned goodness in an attempt to bring back the real and forgotten things in life. In 2016 Melissa s launched two additional related concepts: Melissa s Café which places more emphasis on restaurant, serving three meals per day while still offering a select retail range.
