1. Preface Thank you very much for purchasing V-Solder. V-Solder is effective to prevent solder ball & flux scattering, with making V groove onto solder wire. Depends on various solder wire, the much effect may not appear.(ex. The solder wire that is originally made for solder ball prevention, etc.,) Please read Notes for safety before use, and use this machine properly. Keep this manual in a safe place after read. 2. Notes for safety! CAUTION! Be sure to read this manual before using this machine. Never touch this machine with dump hands. Otherwise, you may get hurt due to electric shock and etc. (death at worse) Never dampen this machine with water or liquid. Otherwise, burst cord may cause fire, malfunction, electric shock and etc. (death at worse) Do not overhaul this machine. Otherwise, it may cause malfunction, electric shock and etc (death at worst). Be sure to use proper replacement parts such as fuse, checking capabilities. Otherwise, parts with wrong capacities may cause fire, malfunction and etc. Company name and products name which is written in this manual is registered trademark for each company. 1
3.Notes for installation and use For using this machine safely, please make sure to do bellows contents. This machine is designed with earth specification. For safety, be sure to use an earth-equipped receptacle. (If you do not have such receptacle, install an earth separately.) Refrain from place where the machine would be exposed too much moisture, direct sunshine, much dust and vibration. Be sure to pull out the power plug, when the machine is not used. Be sure to grab the power plug instead of cable, when inserting and pulling out the plug. Be sure to confirm using voltage before use. Before maintenance (Adjustment and cleaning of V-blade, Guide pulley, etc.), be sure to turn the power switch OFF and pull out the power plug from the receptacle. Do not use this machine for purpose other than the original purpose. Never touch the V-blade during operation. Otherwise, you may get hurt. Be sure to use single flux solder wire. For multi flux solder wire, effect is decreased. Be sure to make V-groove onto solder wire right before the soldering operation. Using old V-grooved wire may affect soldering quality. This machine is set up and assembled for microscopic solder wire accurately. Please make sure not to give strong shock to this machine, or do not use hand roughly. Otherwise setting and adjustment will have possibility to be out of order, or much effect does not appear. Please handle properly. Some of solder wire 0.8φ or 0.6φ has thinner reel. When solder wire is reaching close to end, rotate the reel to the direction of V-blade for making slack. 2

(B) How to set up 1Connect power cable to V-solder machine. 2Insert reel axis into solder wire reel, and set it to holder which is placed bottom of machine. Please make sure to confirm that adjustment leverφand diameter of solder wire are same. [Applicable solder wire diameter: φ0.3~0.8φ] (C) How to use (1) Insert the power plug into the receptacle and turn the main switch to ON. (2) Set solder wire into the inside of V unit. 3Press foot switch, solder will pass the guide pulley and being grooved. PUSH 4
(D) How to set solder wire 1Turn the main switch to ON. Insert solder wire along the guide pulley with keep pressing foot switch. Solder will be being V-grooved. [Applicable solder wire diameter: φ0.3~φ0.8] 2Solder wire will be sent to opposite side. After solder is sent about 30mm, stop pressing foot switch. Please make sure that the solder wire is not twined around guide roller. About 30mm 3Lead the solder wire to V-blade side of Separate pin by picking the solder by finger or tool like tweezers. Rewind 4Take up the slack of solder wire by rewiring the solder reel after confirm that the solder is correctly leaded. 5
(E) How to adjust solder wire diameter Remove solder 1Cut the solder wire which is set by nippers, and remove solder wire from the machine. After remove the solder, turn main switch to OFF. 2Loosen the screw of Guide pulley by hexangular wrench(3mm). 3Set adjust lever to your desired position. Adjusting the lever, distance to V blade will be changed. Scale is just for aim. Depth of V-groove will be difference depending on Solder type, maker. Set to near V-blade, the diameter will be large. (P.8: Refer Depth of V-groove) 4Decide the position of Adjust lever, tighten the screw of guide pulley by hexangular wrench(3mm). Adjustment lever NOTE This is precision instrument for microscopic solder wire. When adjusting V-groove, please handle with enough cautions. If the V-groove is too deep, it will have possibility of parts damage or solder wire twine around V-blade. 6
5. How to maintenance (A) Depth of V-groove and the Adjustment 1Cut the V-grooved solder wire perpendicularly. It will be easier to confirm the V-grooved section, putting V-grooved section to topside. (Set knife perpendicularly and press straightly down) 2Check the cut section by Lupe. Cut 4 points on 2cm of the solder wire, check the cut sections. It is good adjustment If the 4 points of cut section has almost equal depth and the groove is done into the center of the flux. Cut section of V-groove Good V groove too shallow V groove too deep If the depth is too deep, or too shallow after checked by Lupe, Please adjust the V-groove with referring how to adjust solder wire diameter (Page.7). Too shallow with little effect for prevention of solder ball and flux scattering. Too deep with easy deterioration of V-blade by flux sticks. Please adjust depth of V-groove flexibly. Adjusting position will be different depending on Type of solder wire & the flux, size. It is better to adjust after using, with checking the solder ball scattering. NOTE PLEASE DO NOT ADJUST THE DEPTH WITH TOO DEEP. It will have possibility of Solder wire may be twined around V-blade. It will have possibility of less effect by damage of V-blade, Guide pulley. 7
(B) Cleaning of Guide pulley and V-blade Remove solder dust, flux etc. which is stick to Guide pulley or V-blade by swab soaked with alcohol. Please make sure to turn the main switch to OFF and pull out the plug from receptacle when cleaning. 6.
