The Image Pigments color selection is composed of 44 cosmetic pigments and 10 pigments for paramedical use. Image Pigments are manufactured in the United States of America, and are formulated with ingredients of the highest quality. Their water base permits them to be implanted quickly; thus decreasing the possibilities of retouches. Image Pigments can be used directly. There is no need to mix pigments to obtain a specific color. However, there are clients with certain characteristics, where perhaps a modifier should be added, such as those with very dark skin or a natural dark vermillion. Since there are no hypoallergenic pigments and the possibility of an allergic reaction exists, especially with the organic pigments, it is important to perform a patch test during a consultation, which may point to a possible allergic reaction; the color test should be done 30 days prior to the procedure. IMAGE Color Identification Chart (CIC) The CIC chart is provided as a guide to color selection for the applicable service being provided. The Eyebrow and Modifier/Corrector sections have additional temperature and light-to-dark information with an associated temperature chart* and light-to-dark scale** located at the conclusion of the Modifier/Corrector section. Notwithstanding the attention to accuracy and detail provided, how a color example appears is dependent upon the color settings on computer monitors and if printed, the color settings on the printer. When used for an applicable permanent cosmetic service, colors are also subject to being greatly influenced by the skin undertone of the client; the artist s technique and the needle grouping used. The CIC consists of many pages covering all groups of Mei-Cha colors. Each CIC page is numbered. FITZPATRICK SCALE (Skin types) Fitzpatrick I Fitzpatrick IV Fitzpatrick II Fitzpatrick III Fitzpatrick I Highly sun sensitive. Always burns, never tans. Example: Fair Red Heads w/ Freckles. Very warm, and some extremely warm in skin undertone temperature. Fitzpatrick II Very sun sensitive. Easily burns, rarely tans. Example: Fair complexion, fair haired Caucasians. Fitzpatrick II skin types may be warm or cool. Note: Although it is possible to have a peaches and cream (warm) Fitzpatrick II client, 99.99% of Fitzpatrick II clients are cool. Fitzpatrick V Fitzpatrick VI Fitzpatrick IV Low sun sensitivity. May burn, but will quickly turn to dark brown tan. Example: Mediterranean with olive skin tone, some Asians (Far Eastern descent) with yellow-green undertones. Fitzpatrick IV skin types are considered cool. Fitzpatrick V Low to no sun sensitivity. Very rarely burns, tans dark quickly. Example: Latinos, Middle Eastern and some people of darker skin of African descent. Fitzpatrick III Sun sensitive. May burn, but will turn into golden tan. Example: Dark blonde to dark brown haired Caucasians and Asians (Far Eastern descent), usually brown eyed. Although most Fitzpatrick III skin types are typically more neutral (Asian skin-far Eastern descent) to cool, some warm skin undertones do exist. Note: Although it is possible to have a peaches and cream (warm) Fitzpatrick III client, 99.99% of Fitzpatrick III clients are either more neutral (Asian skin-far Eastern descent) or cool. Fitzpatrick VI Will not burn, skin deeply pigmented. Example: Dark to black skin. Fitzpatrick VI is considered to be an extremely cool skin undertone. Page 6 of 31
EYELINER TRADITIONAL EYELINER COLORS These pigments are prepared with iron oxide illuminator except where titanium dioxide is used. Comments: Dark brown eyeliner color. Base: Brown & Green Base: Brown & Black Base: Black & Green BROWN FOR EYES / CAFÉ PARA OJOS BROWN-BLACK / CAFÉ NEGRUZCO BLACK/AZABACHE Use on Fitzpatrick I-III skin types. Beautiful contrast to all eye colors. TIP: This pigment is recommended for clients who desire a natural eyeliner and do not want black on their eyes. Since it is a light color it is not recommended for clients with dark skin. Brown pigment with green / gray base. It is recommended to outline the eyelids, and for use on clients with lighter colored thin skin. It will appear as an olive brown. Widely recommended for clients with skin types I and II. In clients with thick skin types III and IV, it will appear as bluish. A soft brown-black eyeliner color with subtle brown undertones. This eyeliner color is appropriate for most Fitzpatrick skin types and eye colors. TIP: This pigment is recommended only for the eye area and not for the eyebrows. Since this is a very dark brown, it can be used to replace Black when applying on clients with light and translucent skin. It is recommended to outline the eyelids, and for use on clients with lighter colored thin skin. Widely recommended for clients with skin types I and II, who want a subtle effect on the eyelids. It is not recommended for clients with thick skin types III and IV. Black eyeliner color. Appropriate for all Fitzpatrick skin types. Will offer dramatic contrast against light eye colors. TIP: Recommended only for the eye area and never for the eyebrows. Its formula prevents it from changing to gray or blue once implanted. On clients with light and translucent skin, this pigment color may change to blue. It is recommended to delineate the eyelids of clients with thick skin types III and IV. In clients with thin skin types I and II, it will be seen as a gray color. Page 7 of 31
TRADTIONAL FASHION EYELINER COLORS Comments: Fashion eyeliner color. Base: Yellow Base: Blue Base: Green HIGHLIGHTER / ILUMINADOR BLUE / AZUL GREEN / VERDE Appropriate for Fitzpatrick skin types I-V and all eye colors. TIP: This pigment is applied exclusively as an eye highlighter or for eye shadow. Prudence is recommended when using this. It can be used to lighten the Blue or Green pigment colors. The use of a solvent in conjunction with this pigment color will give a more natural effect. Inorganic pigment with a high content of titanium dioxide. For use in "brightening the eyelid. Do not exaggerate the length or thickness of line. Pigment may also be used in mixtures to obtain a specific skin color. Fashion eyeliner color. Works well for clients with green or blue eyes as an accent eyeliner above a black eyelash enhancement. TIP: This pigment is recommended for those who like a different color eyeliner, or for those with blue eyes who would like to enhance them. Since this pigment color cannot be neutralized or eliminated once implanted, it is not recommended if the artist or the client has doubts about using it. Use a solvent to obtain results that are more natural or Highlighter to lighten to a pastel tone. Since it does not contain iron oxide, it will not degrade to a lighter green once implanted. It is recommended for clients with skin types I and II only. Fashion eyeliner color. Works well for clients with green or hazel eyes above a black eyelash enhancement. TIP: This dark green pigment color is recommended only for those clients who desire a different color for eyeliner or for those with green or hazel eyes who wish to enhance them. Do Not use on clients that have doubt about using it. Use a solvent to obtain more natural results or Highlighter to lighten to a pastel tone. Page 8 of 31

EYELINER CORRECTORS Base: Black MAGIC CORRECTOR EYELINER(OJOS) Inorganic pigment. For use as a neutralizer only. TIP: It is used exclusively to correct liners that have degraded to blue, green or gray. After the implantation site has healed, a brown or black eyeliner pigment can be implanted. EYEBROW 1. Image Pigments for Eyebrows are divided in five (5) different categories of neutral shades, which can help the artist select the tone which will harmonize with the color of the hair, skin, eyes, etc. 2. It is important to consider the color of the hair when selecting a corresponding category. Keep in mind that the outcome will be neutral and will combine with different shades found in similar levels. 3. When selecting a corresponding category, consider the darkness or lightness of the hair using the Hair Color Chart for the correct selection of the level and color. Level I represents the darkest, Level 5 is the medium tones and Level 10 the lightest. For example: if a client likes black hair, automatically she will be situated in Level I. Level 1 & 2 belong to Category I; therefore, this will be the desired color to be used. A client with blonde hair belongs at Level 10. Level 9 and 10 belong to Category V, which is blonde. LEVELS OF HAIR COLOR 4. Consider the texture of the skin to avoid the color being darker than predicted. For extremely white or thin skin, select a higher level category to the one desired. Do the same for dark skin. For example: The color desired is Category III, use Category IV. 5. If using saturation techniques, such as single or double dotting or single prong needles, use a higher category to avoid the desired color turning darker. 6. It is recommended to add 20% of the Ochre pigment to the formula to prevent a pigment from turning gray, especially when working on translucent or dark skin. Implanting Category V over the color used as the final part of the procedure will also avoid unexpected changes. 7. The category V pigment should be applied as the complementary color when using Category I,II,II, or IV. The use of this pigment upon finalizing the procedure avoids pigments degrading to gray by stabilizing them in brown tones. Implant this pigment upon finishing a procedure. 8. If some eyebrows degrade to gray, evaluate the saturation of the existing color. If it is a light gray or medium, neutralize it with a warm modifier. If it is a dark gray, use Terra Cotta (color for lips). 9. To add copper highlights to the eyebrows, use the Warm Modifier pigment 30 days after the final retouch. 10. If the eyebrows degrade to red, lilac, or pink, use the Cool Modifier if the color desired to correct is dark. When the undesired color is pale, neutralize it with Category III. 11. To create three-dimensional effects, it is recommended to use three (3) different categories, the darkest being the one to match the hair color. For example: On a person with hair levels 3-4 use Category II, III, and IV. On a person with hair levels 5-6 use Category III, IV, and V. If a person is placed on hair levels 7-8, use only Categories II, IV, and V. On persons with blonde hair, use only Categories IV and V. Page 12 of 31
Darkest Brown/Category 1 This very dark brown pigment is recommended for clients who want black eyebrows. Use it only on those who have black hair color situated on levels 1-2. It can also be used on eyes to accomplish a dark gray look. Base: Yellow/Green Dark Brown/ Category II This dark brown pigment is recommended for those who want a natural dark eyebrow. Use it on clients with dark brown hair color, situated on levels 3-4. It can also be used on those who desire a steel gray eyeliner. Base: Yellow/Green Medium Brown/ Category III Recommended for clients that desire a natural eyebrow. Use it on clients with medium brown hair color, situated on levels 5-6. It can also be used on clients who desire a natural eyeliner. Base: Yellow/Green Light Brown/Category IV This light brown pigment is recommended for clients that desire a natural eyebrow match to a hair color. Use It on those who dye their hair light brown on levels 7-8. Base: Yellow/Green Blonde/ Rubio/ Category V This pigment is used on clients that have their hair on very high levels (9-10). It is also used as a stabilizer. Use it upon finishing a procedure of eyebrows to avoid that pigment from changing once infiltrated on clients with cool skin tones. To prevent this color from turning to a warm, we recommend using Category II upon finalizing the procedure. Base: Yellow/Green Gray Hair/Pelo Cano As its name indicates, this pigment should be used exclusively on clients with gray or white hair. Base: Gray Page 13 of 31
EYEBROW COLORS Eyebrow Colors: Listed Light to Dark Comments: A Light Cool Blonde. Base: Gray Base: Gray Base: Yellow Base: Yellow & Green HONEY BLONDE GRAY HAIR / PELO CANO BLONDE / CATEGORIA V LIGHT BROWN /CATEGORIA IV Appropriate for Fitzpatrick I-II skin types and for clients with blonde hair. TIP: This pigment is considered Image s lightest shade for eyebrows. It is categorized as a cool blonde. It is recommended to for use on clients wish to obtain grey hues. A great option for people with warm skin tones and blonde hair. Well balanced neutral color for those with gray hair. Appropriate for Fitzpatrick I-III skin types and for clients with white or gray hair. TIP: As its name indicates, this pigment should be used exclusively on clients with gray or white hair. A medium warm brown color. Good for use on Fitzpatrick I-VI skin types. When used on Fitzpatrick V-VI skin tone types will produce a very light soft barely there eyebrow. TIP: Recommended on clients that have their hair on the very high Hair levels (9-10). It is also used as a stabilizer. Use it upon finishing a procedure of eyebrows to avoid that pigment from changing once infiltrated on clients with cool skin tones. To prevent this color from turning too warm, it is recommended to use Category III upon finalizing the procedure. A well balanced medium blonde eyebrow color. Use on Fitzpatrick I-IV skin types. TIP: This light brown pigment is recommended for clients that desire a natural eyebrow match to a hair color. Use it on those who dye their hair light brown on levels 7-8. Page 14 of 31
MEDIUM BROWN/ CATEGORIA III This is a medium brown color that may also be appropriate for darker blonde requests. A good color, recommended for Fitzpatrick III-V skin types with dark blonde or medium brown hair. Base: Yellow & Green Base: Yellow & Green Temperature: Base: Yellow & Green Base: Yellow & Green ETHNIC EYEBROWS DARK BROWN /CATEGORIA II GOLDEN BROWN DARKEST BROWN/ CATEGORIA I TIP: Recommended for clients that desire a natural eyebrow. Use it on clients with medium brown hair color, situated on Hair levels 5-6. It can also be used on clients who desire natural eyeliner. A soft, natural, warm medium brown color. Good for use on Fitzpatrick III-IV skin types. TIP: This dark brown pigment is recommended for those who want a natural dark eyebrow. Use it on clients with dark brown hair color, situated on levels 3-4. It can also be used on clients who desire a steel gray eyeliner. A natural, warm medium brown color. Good for use on Fitzpatrick IIII-V skin types. TIP: Great for achieving a medium brown eyebrow. On clients with thin skin you may run the risk of obtaining a very dark result, so caution is advised. Its yellow/green base will keep it from turning to red tones. To obtain a warm tone, it is recommended to add 20% of Category V. A beautiful brown that is cooler than Cocoa and lighter than Espresso. This color heals to a dark brown for Fitzpatrick III-V skin types. TIP: This very dark brown pigment is recommended for clients who want black eyebrows. Use it only on clients who have black hair situated on Hair levels 1-2. It can also be used on eyeliner to accomplish a dark gray look. Dark brown eyebrow pigment. Temperature: Base: ETHNIC EYEBROWS TIP: This pigment is designed for clients with skin type V. It can also be used as neutralizer on eyebrows that have degraded to green. Page 15 of 31

Please note that all results are dependant not only on the color chosen, but the skin undertone of the client; the needle configuration used; and the technique employed. Each of those elements all play a very important role in the outcome of how warm or cool a color appears when healed. As an example, a color rated as a -3 cool, tattooed into a very cool skin undertone with a single needle, employing the hairline stroke technique can ultimately heal to appear as a -5 extremely cool. After accessing the client s skin undertone and taking in consideration the technique being applied, adding warmth to prevent any ashing out is the artist s responsibility. How much warmth depends on all the above factors. Neutral signifies no substantial temperature bias. However, all color results are dependent upon skin undertones. Cool and warm designations indicate the basic temperature bias of the pigment's undertone. A temperature designation does not necessarily indicate absolute cool or warm properties; rather that the primary bias leans toward either cool or warm. There are different degrees of cool and warm. Some pigments may be only slightly cool or warm, whereas others may be very cool or warm. Each artist must work with Mei-Cha and the client's individual skin undertones to determine the appropriate temperature bias of the correct pigment selection for each client. **Eyebrow and Modifier/Corrector Color Light to Dark (L-D) Scale Page 16 of 31
CORRECTOR & MIXERS MODIFIER/CORRECTION/MIXER COLORS Colors Listed From Light to Dark Comments: A light, almost white color with a pink undertone. TIP: A beige pigment, naturally light, is used as a base in conjunction with the Cool Modifier to create any skin color for camouflaging procedures. SKIN MODIFIER / MOD. PIEL Base: White/Yellow ORCHROS / OCRE Base: Mustard Yellow/ Orange A warm pumpkin color. TIP: Use this pigment as an additive to avoid any pigment for eyebrows degrading to gray when applied on clients with dark skin or white translucent skin. An addition of 20% to the formula is recommended. Example: Add one (1) drop for every four (4) of the other pigment. A bright orange color. Corrects (neutralizes) blue and purple lips. This modifier color is for lips only. TIP: This pigment has a bright orange base that serves to neutralize lips that have degraded to dark tones. It is also used to neutralize black or dark blue. MANDARIN / MANDARINA Base: Brown/Red MANDARIN 2 / MANDARINA II Base: Brown/Red A bright orange color. Corrects (neutralizes) blue and purple lips. This modifier color is for lips only. TIP: This pigment has a bright orange base that serves to neutralize lips that have degraded to dark tones. It is also used to neutralize black or dark blue. It is more yellow than the original mandarin and was created to neutralize quicker. Page 17 of 31
A medium warm brown color. Good for use on Fitzpatrick I-VI skin types. WARM MODIFIER / MOD. CALIDO Base: Brown/Red TIP: This inorganic pigment is an orange base used to neutralize eyebrows that have degraded to light gray. To obtain a copper shade on eyebrows, use this pigment in the retouch. Dark green modifier that corrects eyebrows that have degraded to red, pink, or violet. Base: Green/Yellow COOL MODIFIER / MOD. FRIO Use on Fitzpatrick I-III skin types. TIP: This pigment with a green base neutralizes eyebrows that have degraded to red, pink, or violet. Use it as an additive with the Skin Modifier to create specific tones for camouflage. Page 18 of 31
LIPS Lips Colors NOTE: Lip Color Procedures NOT Recommended For Fitzpatrick VI Skin Tones. NOTE: Although a lip formula may contain warm ingredients, because all lips have a cool undertone (some more than others), a lip color that is designated as warm will likely heal less warm than the formulation appears prior to the procedure. Achieving a warm lip is very challenging; the client s lips must be very pale to achieve this. Warmer ingredients are offered in selected formulations to help prevent a too cool healed lip appearance, not necessarily to achieve a healed orange appearance. Even considering a pale lip canvas, the artist and/or the client may not see a noticeably orange appearance when healed. Colors Listed from light to dark Comments: REDS Coral red lip color. TIP: This pigment with a neutral base is recommended for full lips and as a lip liner to obtain a red-pink color. It can be implanted on clients with any skin complexion. Base: Red & Orange Base: Red CORAL RED / ROJO Red lip color. TIP: Recommended to obtain a warm red on lips. It can be used as a lip liner or for full lips. Its warm base permits it to be used even with a natural dark vermillion. When using Terracotta, Cappuchino, Rust Red, etc., on clients with dark complexion, implant this pigment as the first step to prevent the pigments form turning darker. Page 19 of 31
Organic pigment with orange and brown base. Base: Orange&Brown Base: Red & Violet ROXY RED/ ROJO OXIDO MAGENTA Ideal for clients with kin types II and III, when you want to achieve a dark red hue. TIP: The pigment s orange base prevents it from degrading to sepia once implanted. This pigment is not suggested for clients with skin In types III and I. Magenta cool red lip Color. TIP: This pigment is recommended to obtain a cool red. It can be used as a lip liner and for full lips. Its neutral base permits the artist to use it directly, even with a natural dark vermillion. PINKS Base: Pink Base: White&Red Base: Pink Base: Red & Blue NATURAL LIPS / LABIOS NATURALES ROSE / ROSA MAUVE / ROSA MALVA SALMON Soft natural pink lip color. TIP: Recommended as a lip liner and for full lips when the desired outcome is natural. The result of this pigment is so natural that it can also be used on males or in reconstruction of cleft lip. Soft pink rose lip color. Ideal for skin types I and II, when a subtle pink hue is desired. TIP: Recommended only for full lips. Great for clients who want to achieve a natural look. Not recommended for clients with skin type III. Mauve pink lip color. TIP: Although this pigment is opaque, it is recommended as a lip liner and for full lips when the desired result is Old Rose. It is not recommended for persons with dark skin. Subtle red lip color. Ideal for skin types I, II, and III. TIP: It is highly recommended for clients who wish to achieve a plumper lip. Use on Skin types, I-III to achieve a subtle red hue. Page 21 of 31
WINES Blue violet wine lip liner color. Base: Red & Blue Base: Red & Violet WINE /VINO DARK WINE / VINO TINTO CABERNET TIP: This pigment color contains a blue base and is recommended only to obtain a violet lip liner. It is not recommended for full lips or on clients with a natural dark vermillion. Red wine lip liner color. TIP: This pigment color is designed to obtain a red wine. A clients with a naturally dark vermillion runs the risk that the pigment darkens once it is implanted. It is not recommended for full lips. Organic lip pigment with red base. TIP: The undisputed favorite red lip pigment in the line. Use on clients with skin types I, II and III, to achieve a brilliant red hue. Not ideal for use on darker skin tones. BROWNS TERRACOTA Earth tone brown ochre lip liner color. TIP: Recommended as a lip liner to obtain ochre or earth tones. Its yellow base allows it be used on any skin complexion. Base: Brown & Red Base: Brown & Orange Base: Orange & Yellow CAPPUCHINO PEACH / DURAZNO Brown lip liner color. TIP: Recommended only as a lip liner to obtain a brownish lip line. It should be used with caution, especially on all clients with a naturally dark vermillion. Recommended to add 20% of Mandarin or Peach. Orange lip color. TIP: This pigment color has a bright orange base and is recommended to neutralize lips that are naturally dark and to lighten dark lip lines. Use it as an additive in pigment colors with a blue base that are to be used on clients with dark skin or a naturally dark vermillion. It can also be used for full lips. - Signifies pigments which contain colorants that are NOT to be used near the eye or eyebrow area. Note of Caution: These colors were developed to meet the needs of well trained, experienced professionals. The Modifier/Corrector Series are powerful colors and not intended for general use alone upon virgin skin. Artists familiar with layering insurance colors into lip formulas will enjoy beautiful results. AREOLA & CAMO AREOLA COLORS The series of the Image Pigments for areolas can be used directly to work on bilateral mastectomy procedures. Mix them to obtain a specific tone to camouflage scars and areola achromies, to increase the size of the areola, and for unilateral mastectomies. This series is composed of five (5) different tones, which can be used to obtain a generalized shaded. These also can be mixed to obtain a specific shade. A patch test is recommended to verify the color when performing camouflaging procedures, an increase of areolas, and unilateral re-pigmentation. To achieve a degraded effect on the perimeter of the areolas, use a solvent. SKIN CAMOUFLAGE COLORS Recommendations for the correct usage of the Image Pigments for camouflaging can be used directly to camouflage scars, small errors, stretch marks, and achromies. This series is composed of five (5) different shades used to obtain specific colors. To determine which pigment will be used, apply a small amount on the skin next to the area to be camouflaged. The pigment color can be modified with mixtures or may be applied directly. A patch test is recommended to verify the color when performing camouflaging procedures, especially when working on large areas. Comments: Light pink/beige areola color. What are the Do s & Don t as it relates to Image CAUTION: Manufacturer Recommends Color and Skin Patch test. If a reaction should occur, discontinue use & seek medical attention. Use: For use only by professionals trained in Micropigmentation/Permanent Cosmetic Applications. Directions: Shake/Mix well before using. Pour in sterile container before use. Do Not Use on Infants & Children under the age of 18. Do Not exceed recommended applications. Avoid contact with eyes. Flush thoroughly with water to cleanse the eye(s). Avoid sun exposure when possible. Use effective sunscreen 30SPF or higher for protection. Follow Manufacturer Instructions for Use. Blood donations cannot be made for a year after getting a tattoo or permanent makeup. Patch/sensitivity testing is paramount. (Refer to Guidelines for Patch Testing for further details/instructions on patch testing). Professional Use Only: IMAGE should be used by professional artists only! Caution: IMAGE colors marked for lips only should be used on the lip area only! IMAGE pigments should not be implanted over other Manufacturer pigment colors. These pigment colors should not be blended with other Manufacturer pigments. 24 hours prior; do not take the following substances: Stimulants: Tea, coffee, soda with caffeine or other substances containing stimulants. GENERAL AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS (For 7-14 days after the procedure) 1. AVOID EXPOSURE TO SUN, TANNING BEDS AND UV RAYS. Use effective sunscreen 30SPF or higher for protection. 2. DO NOT TOUCH THE AREA Do not scratch, rub, or pick the scabs. Do not have a facial treatment. 3. MINIMIZE WATER EXPOSURE. 4. AVOID USING COSMETICS ON THE AREA including facial creams, cleansers, aloe Vera, etc. 5. AVOID WORKING IN THE YARD, dirt, pollutants from the environment may cause infections. 6. AVOID seafood, salty and spicy foods. 7. AVOID SWIMMING, long hot steamy baths, showers and Jacuzzis. Laser removal may cause discoloration. GUIDELINES FOR PATCH TESTING Currently, the industry does not require a sensitivity test for possible allergic reactions; however, Mei-Cha strongly advocates conducting a thorough sensitivity test procedure prior to performing any Permanent Makeup/Micropigmentation procedure with our pigment colors. For sensitivity testing, please refer to a Doctor, medical specialist, or a licensed technician allowed to perform such tests within the artist s specific state, and/or country before doing the treatment. Please refer to the laws of your state and/or country to determine the requirements necessary for performing a sensitivity test. Laws may vary by state and country. Carry out this test for every pigment color which is to be used. Check with your liability insurance carrier for additional guidelines and the suggested amount of time between sensitivity testing and performing the procedure. Note: If performing a skin sensitivity and/or color patch test, It is recommended to perform ALL these tests prior to any procedure. For sensitivity testing, please refer to a Doctor, Medical Specialist, or licensed technician and his/her report before doing the treatment. Clients feel more assured when administered a skin sensitivity test to check for an adverse reaction. It is also advised to test for topical anesthetic sensitivity and antibacterial ointment sensitivity. THE FOLLOWING ARE ONLY RECOMMENDATIONS TO BE GIVEN TO A DOCTOR, MEDICAL SPECIALIST OR LICENSED TECHNICIAN IF REQUESTED, REGARDING SENSITIVITY TESTING: Skin/Sensitivity Test: Tests for sensitivities and may indicate a possible allergic response or adverse reaction to the pigment/dye color. A medical history will help determine possible pigment/dye allergic reactions. This is performed either behind the ears or between the toes, or as preferred by the Doctor, medical specialist or licensed technician performing the test. Inorganics (Iron Oxides, Chromiums & Ultramarines) this is normally a 2-7 day test*. Organics (Lip & Scalp Organic Pigments & Carbon Based) this is normally a 7-10 day test*. Organics (D&C and FD&C Dyes) this is normally a 7-10 day test*. Sensitivities to eye shadows, lipsticks, and blush containing D&C dyes may indicate a potential allergic response. Anesthetic/Sensitivity Test: Conducted at the same time as the skin sensitivity test by depositing several drops of anesthetic using a triple needle with a dotting method in an area other than the one that the color has been placed. Antibiotic Ointment/Sensitivity Test: (This test is recommended to be performed opposite of the ear that a skin sensitivity test was performed). Perform another pigment color skin test then place a small amount of the antibiotic ointment over the area where a pigment color skin test was performed (i.e. Back of Ear). *The testing lengths listed above reflect suggestions made by Mei-Cha, however, the length of any skin/sensitivity, anesthetics/sensitivity or antibiotic ointment/sensitivity test should ultimately be determined by the doctor, medical specialist or licensed technician performing the procedure. *Recommended test areas are as follows: Back of Ear: The back of the ear is sensitive tissue and any adverse reactions likely appear here. Procedure Site: This will show if the particular site has susceptibility to an adverse reaction. * The test areas listed above reflect suggestions made by Mei-Cha, however, the test area should ultimately be determined by the doctor, medical specialist or licensed technician performing the procedure. Positive Reaction: Usually a reaction is pruritic, (intense itching of the skin without eruption) associated with erythema nodosum (abnormal redness of the skin with nodule like characteristics). If this or any other abnormal reaction appears, it is advised to consult with a Physician. Caution: Do Not perform a color/patch test if a skin sensitivity test proves positive. Negative Reaction: Without itching, abnormal redness or eruption. A negative sensitivity test result to organics does not guarantee that the client will not develop pigment/dye sensitivity months or years later. Page 28 of 31
HOW TO PERFORM A COLOR TEST Color testing serves to test for color outcome before subsequently performing a full procedure with the same color desired. Using a new sterile needle, perform a patch color test by depositing a series of (6-12) dots of color into the dermal layer of the skin. If mixing two or more pigments/dyes, patch color test with all the pigment colors blended together. The ingredients differ in the organic pigments, therefore; it is necessary to perform a separate patch color test for with EACH pigment. Color/Patch Test: Tests for color outcome assuring the client and artist that the best pigment color was chosen. This is normally a 30-day test and performed on procedure site area. For uniformity, patch test laterally on both eyes, both eyebrows and lip corners. PRODUCT SHELF LIFE & CARE AFTER OPENING Pigment shelf life may vary due to one or all of the following: product storage, exposure to extreme temperatures, opening, cross contamination, damage, UV Rays, radiation, autoclave, and sterility, absent of preservatives or microbial growth inhibitor(s) & product alteration. These products are Lot & Date Coded for product safety and comply with all E.U. Directives, Guidelines and Regulations. For Best Results: Always shake pigment bottles very well before each use. Best way to shake remove cap, place a clean gloved finger or clean paper towel over opening and shake for at least 30 seconds. Do not mix different pigment color brands critical to follow this rule. Always prevent cross-contamination by never dispensing color from bottle into pigment cup at contaminated workstation. Never handle bottles with contaminated hands. Securely cap bottles immediately after dispensing color. Unopened Containers of pigments have a shelf life from 5-10 years from the date of manufacturing if kept in a cool, dry place and not exposed to any extreme temperatures or UV rays. Opened Containers should be discarded after one year (12M; 365 days). This is an international standard that Mei-Cha International adheres to for all locations.
