ANOTHER EXAMPLE

Time Management

Time Management The rice is everything else; the small stuff. If you put the rice into the jar first, there is no room for the rocks. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your own happiness and success. Be prepared for your classes; show up for classes; take care of your health; exercise; etc. There will always be time to play video games, watch Netflix, chores, texting, errands and interruptions. Take care of the rocks first the things that really matter. Set your priorities; the rest is just rice in a jar.

Time Management 1 ST :Get a planner computer, smartphone, paper or calendar Planning doesn t tie you down, it frees you up as you don t have to worry about forgetting important things or overscheduling.

Time Management 2 nd : take a few minutes at the beginning of the week to plan your week. 3 rd : ask yourself what the most important things you need to do this week (rocks). 4 th : if you don t schedule the rocks; things won t get done. 5 th : adapt each day as needed because things happen that you may not be able to control. 6 th : the simple act of planning each week will enable you to get a lot more done.

Freshman Pledge I am joining the Georgia State University community to pursue my intellectual and personal growth. As a member of the community, I pledge To uphold the highest levels of personal and academic honesty, responsibility and integrity; To dedicate myself to the ongoing pursuit of knowledge and truth; To respect the differences among all members of my community; To challenge myself to learn; To examine my beliefs, values, and goals; To accept responsibility for all of my actions; and To support the values of Georgia State University.

REFLECTION PAPER DUE IN DROPBOX ON BRIGHTSPACE BEFORE CLASS TIME ON SEPTEMBER 11

CREATE AN OUTLINE FOR YOUR REFLECTION PAPER (2 page limitation) Make a list of the main highlights of the speech or presentation. Have at least three key points. Expand on each of the 3 key points; think of quotes, examples and other details that support the main key points. List your own thoughts and feelings on each of the key points and give examples from your own life that relate to these points when possible. Start your paper with an introduction which includes a summary of the presentation you are reflecting on. Your last sentence in the introduction should be the thesis statement which gives an overview of your thoughts. Include in your paper what surprised you, why you were surprised and what action you will take as a result of the learning you acquired. End your paper with a conclusion. Give a brief summary of the material or explain how you will use the presentation information in the future.
