Painting Instructions: The Santa faces are painted exactly the same. Basecoat both faces with Mocha. Shade each face under the hat and down the 1
sides of the face with Shading Flesh. Highlight the center of the face with Light Buttermilk. Blush the cheeks with Melon. Paint the eyes with Snow White. When dry, paint the iris with Uniform Blue. Add a small touch of Lamp Black for the pupils, then add a highlight dot of Snow White to the right side. Then continue painting: Basecoat as follows: Santa Red Hat and coat of Santa with tree, mittens of Santa with basket Midnite Green Hat and coat of Santa with basket, mittens of Santa with tree Neutral Grey Beards, mustache, and eye brows (Beards are stroked with Light Buttermilk and Snow White) Avocado Tree Buttermilk Fur cuffs on arms and coat for both Santas Honey Brown Satchel and basket Antique White Package in basket (Ribbon is Santa Red) Forest Green Package in basket Lamp Black Shoes and belts (Buckle is Emperor s Gold) Milk Chocolate Tree trunk, and Santa s staff Snow White Snowman and strings on Santa with basket (Hat and scarf are Santa Red, eyes and buttons are Lamp Black) For the beards, use your ¼ Comb and Light Buttermilk to stroke in the first layers of the beard and mustache. When dry Shade lightly around the face and mustache and around the tree and staff with Neutral Grey. With Snow White add highlight strokes to break up the darkness of the beard. With your liner add small strokes of Snow White to the eye brows. Santa with Tree: Shade around the edge of the hat, in the creases, under the back of the neck, around the beard and arms, above and below the belt, around the satchel and staff, above the bottom fur, next to the fur on the arms, and down the creases all around the coat with Black Plum. With your highlighter brush, add highlights here and there with Hot Shots/Neons Fiery Red. This may take several coats, so add more if you want your highlights brighter. Shade the tree next to the beard and under each layer with Midnite Green. Dry brush highlights with Avocado Dip. Add more if you want your highlights brighter. Shade the satchel with Milk Chocolate on the straps next to the beard, on the main portion of the bag next to the coat, under the flap, and on the insides of the strap. Highlight the bag with Marigold on the center of the flap and here and there on the edges of the strap. Shade the mittens next to the coat with Lamp Black. Highlight the tips with Forest Green. Shade the fur at the edge next to the coat, at each end of the fur on the arms and at the top and bottom of the fur running down the front of coat with Antique White. Highlight the fur with 2
Snow White. Shade the staff with Raw Umber down both sides next to the coat and above and below the mitten. Highlight here and there with Sable Brown. Highlight the tips of the shoes with Neutral Grey. Add a few random highlights here and there on the belt with Neutral Grey. Santa with Basket: Shade around the edge of the hat, in the creases, under the back of the neck, around the beard and arms, above and below the belt, around the basket and snowman, above the bottom fur, next to the fur on the arms, and down the creases all around the coat with Lamp Black. With your highlighter brush, add highlights here and there with Forest Green. This may take several coats, so add more if you want your highlights brighter. For the basket, shade down the sides next to the coat, at both ends of the handle, around the upper and lower lip of the basket with Milk Chocolate. With Marigold, highlight the center of the basket and handle. Shade the Antique White package with Milk Chocolate, make sure this is light, just enough to add some depth. Shade the green package with Midnite Green where the package meets the basket edge. Shade the fur on both ends of the arms and where the bottom fur meets up with the coat with Antique White. Highlight with Snow White to the center of the fur on the arms and along the bottom of the coat fur. Shade the mittens with Black Plum where they meet up against the fur. Highlight the ends of the mittens with Hot Shots/Neons Fiery Red. Boot is highlighted on the tip with Neutral Grey. Add a few random highlights here and there on the belt with Neutral Grey. Finishing: Finish with several light coats of DecoArt Acrylic Spray Sealer/ Finisher - Matte, and enjoy! 3
