While rosacea and psoriasis both affect the skin, they vary in many ways. Here are some key differentiators. Psoriasis 101 Psoriasis is a disease that can be linked to conditions like obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, pregnancy and arthritis. PRESENTED BY Sun Safety TANNING BED TERROR While there is a myriad of evidence supporting the dangers of artificial tanning beds, many people continue to use them despite the facts. The Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation (CSCF) strongly recommends that people avoid tanning beds due to the strong link between tanning beds and skin cancer. As noted on the CSCF website, the World Health Organization designated tanning beds carcinogenic to humans in 2009. For comparison, tobacco, arsenic and asbestos are also extremely harmful carcinogens. That s right, tanning beds are just as bad as cigarettes. than those put out by the midday sun. In fact, experts say the doses in tanning beds can be as much as 14 times higher UVA and four times higher UVB.
