THE 11TH ANNUAL MEETING PLACE FOR THE FASHION INDUSTRY THE SIGNATURE EVENT OF THE GLOBAL FASHION INDUSTRY Prime Source Forum (PSF) was initiated in 2006 to echo the implementation of quota elimination in the apparel industry, with the support of three founding organisations, the American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA), United States Fashion Industry Association (USFIA; formerly USAITA) and Foreign Trade Association (FTA) in Brussels. Since its debut in 2006, the brand, PSF has been further developed and is nowadays considered to be the annual meeting place for senior executives to discuss the challenges and opportunities that manufacturers, suppliers, brands and e-/retailers are facing in the industry. With its status as an independent forum, PSF is able to gain endorsement and serve members of 30+ industry organisations from 18 countries. PSF is not limited to the sourcing aspect of the supply chain, but is a prime source of information for the fashion industry. Engaging delegates for interaction and contribution is the most important element of its success. FRINGE PROGRAMME Sourcing managers at my level or in senior positions no longer visit local and overseas trade fairs to look for new products. We consider new suppliers by existing connections, selected referrals or find them at high-level conferences. Ideally, new suppliers are coming to us to showcase their innovations so that we can make decisions here immediately, comments a sourcing executive of one of the top three apparel retailers in Europe. To attain our ultimate goal total engagement of participants, we will, for the first time launch the PSF Fashion Design Competition in PSF2016 to strengthen the buyer-supplierrelationship. Six awards will be given to winning companies at the forum: - fashionchic: fashion in signature design fashiondeco: fashion in best use of accessories or trimmings fashionfine: fashion in best use of materials fashionlean: fashion made with lean processing and at low garment costs fashionpure: fashion in best sustainable process or environmentally friendly materials fashiontech: fashion in best use of technology The Competition is international and open to apparel manufacturers for participation. Designers and sourcing executives of buying offices of brands and retailers will be invited to be judges. The judge list will be announced when closer to the event and the winning items ill be display in the Trend Lounge of the Forum.
