A Nightmare On 8 th Street A First Love Skateshop Halloween Art Show On Saturday, October 12th, First Love Skateshop held a Halloween themed art show hosting a large collection of art from many local artists. As well as people enjoying the free entertainment from the art and music of the event, many of the art pieces were on sale to the public for artists to profit from, and there were T-shirts and art pieces raffled off with the goal of raising money to host future art shows.

Unspecified Mag Presents Halloween Art Gallery by Lauren Novencido Age 19 Style Abstract / Surrealism Bio- I have been drawing since I was a young girl, but sold my soul to art when I took my first classes my senior year of high school. After visiting museums up and down California, I knew I was being exposed to the art life for a reason. I do like to spend a lot of time solo with my thoughts, and I tend to keep a mysterious distance between myself and most others. It is nothing personal however; my mind is on a constant carousel. Art is simply a part of my self, but this is something I cannot explain well with words. My whimsical style expresses the moods and visions of my daydreams, and how I perceive my world. It is my strongest form of expression, even over speaking. I can imagine art as a natural force that channels through me while I allow its trances to seep through my fingertips. If I wasn t making art, I would probably be in a class room drawing hypnotic patterns in my notebook and driving myself mad. Art is fascinating to me because as a surrealist, we can disturb even ourselves by the images created by our own hands, because sometimes, we cannot explain where they come from. Art connects us to the universe, yet distances ourselves from the universal reality. [Bio continued on page 10]

Goals I am currently working to get to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where I hope to absorb its rich culture to enhance my development as an artist. I hope to become a master of multiple mediums so as to master expressions of my self in many dimensions and forms. I do also, plan to travel abroad to explore our worldly treasures, collecting inspirations and epiphanies and converting them into images created by my own hands. I hope to exhibit my work in countless galleries around the world, and to someday own and design museums and libraries in numerous countries. Most of all: to touch as many souls and to open as many eyes blinking on this earth as I humanly can to the fact that in every single place you look there is Beauty, even in darkness. Through my work, I would like to express this to all. Interesting Facts -I am left handed, but ambidextrous with a lot of things such as sculpting and painting. -When I was a young girl I had a dream about a pair of hands directing me how to get to heaven, and I believe this has something to do with my artistic talents today. -I write poetry too!
