THE NATURAL AGEING PROCESS Skin ageing is inevitable, however a daily skincare routine combined with the right products can significantly help to delay the signs and make the most of your skin. The first signs of ageing start to appear from the age of 30-35. Research has shown that flaccidity can occur up to ten years within the skin before it becomes visible. Young, normal and healthy skin has an epidermis that acts as an efficient barrier to water and environmental aggressions. Skin colour and tone is even and unblemished, whilst collagen and elastin are abundant. After the age of 20 we produce around 1 percent less collagen in the skin each year. Natural oil production also decreases over time which makes the skin dry. Gradually, the skin becomes thinner, more fragile and wrinkles appear. Outside factors can also accelerate the visible signs of ageing, the sun in particular damages the skin and creates pigmentation as well as pollutants like tobacco or environmental factors. 1. Cleanse Always wash off makeup before going to bed as excess makeup and debris will cause the pores to clog. Massage in one of our cleansers using gentle, circular movements then remove with a damp cloth or wash off with warm water. 2. Tone Toning your skin will remove any excess cleanser, close your pores and prepare your skin for moisturising. Pour a few drops into the palm of your hand and massage in. All of our toners are treatments for the skin. 3. Apply eye cream Use no more than a grain of rice size per eye. Gently pat around the eye socket. Too much cream applied too closely to the eye can cause puffiness. 4. Apply Serum Serums have powerful effects on the skin as they have much smaller molecules than a moisturiser and are therefore able to penetrate the skin much deeper. A serum should not replace your moisturiser nor do they need to be used all year round, only at times when the skin is stressed and in need of a boost.
