LOVE THIS HAIR EXTENSIONS WEAVES AFTERCARE It is crucial that you make the most of your extensions by taking good care of them. You can visit a salon which is accustom to washing and handling Weaves extensions, once a week. Your stylist knows what to look out for and most of all, more attention is paid to the bonds, especially at the back where most people find difficult to manage themselves. Leaving your Weaves extensions looking great for longer... Because us girls are worth it! Extensions may feel uncomfortable for the first 7 days, but should ease after each wash. Immediately after application, due to the braids of the extensions, scalp may feel a little sensitive. This is normal and will settle soon after. Do not wash hair for at least 24hours after fitting. Use our recommended shampoo & conditioner only. Tie back in a loose ponytail or plait using a soft hair band for bed. When sleeping use a silk pillowcase to ease discomfort, and prevent extensions hair from snagging. Never wear extensions for longer than 2 months, without maintenance. Within this period your natural hair would have grown approximately 1.5 inches, where the roots of the hair often start tangling together. Lighter shaded sometimes have bleach constant therefore has a shorter wear than non bleached darker colours.
WASHING Extensions hair should be washed up to 3 times per week maximum. Before washing use Tangle Tamer brush to detangling hair and separate rows. It is essential to use recommended shampoos and conditioners only. When washing the extension hair, do not tip over bath tub as this causes tangling. Always wash with your bread upright in the shower. Smooth down the hair extensions and do not rub vigorously. Do not apply conditioner to the braids, this may cause slippage. Please be advised you can loose a couple of tracks in a 6 weeks period. This is completely normal, and weft hair can be reused on your maintenance appointments. For lightest blonde colours use silver shampoo once a month to keep platinum blonde. Please rinse silver shampoo after 5 mins and condition extensions tips as normal. Avoid colouring the T section of the hairline after fitting. Colouring is advised before Weaves application.
Drying and Brushing Before detangling, you are advised to use a leave in conditioning spray. Detangling using your Tangle Tamer, always making sure you avoid the braided area. Be careful brushing the extensions when wet. Towel dry as much as possible, then hold the bonds to support your scalp from tension. For a sleek finish, section hair off and blow dry, be careful not to snag the braides or thread head secure bond. Finish by using a good quality hair straightening iron. Heated rollers, straightening iron, crimpers and tongs can all be used on the extension hairs with heat protecting spray to protect your natural hair also. Serums, gels, hair sprays etc. can also be used but avoid the bonded areas, this may cause slippage.blow dry hair on a medium heat and be cautious of direct heat on the braids as there are synthetic hair used when braiding, which cannot be used with much heat. Always use the recommended brush on a daily basis, and separate hair daily. The tangle tamer glides over the bonds and hair without snagging or tugging. Avoid ball tip brushes. Remember your extensions are attached to your own natural hair, so avoid pulling too hard or mistreating your extensions as this can effectively pull your natural hair out.
Day to day activities, swimming and holidays. If you use a sunbed, it is advisable to wrap the hair in a towel first. Sunbeds scan dry out the hair. If you workout regularly or have regular use of a sauna or steam room, make sure the braiding are completely dried as soon as possible after your session. Leaving the braids in a constant damp environment can cause them to deteriorate & affect your natural hair. Weaves are one of the only recommended method to use if you are pregnant, and wait 6-8 months after having a baby, as hormonal hair loss during and after pregnancy can be accelerated by wearing Tight braids. Swimming is not recommended whilst you are wearing these extensions, but if you do please follow these precautions: place long extension hair style in a plait. Use a covered band especially at the front, back and sides of the head. Avoid getting the extensions wet when swimming in pools or sea, by diving under water. The chlorine in pools and salt in the sea combined with the heat will cause the extensions to discolour and matt. If hair extensions get wet in such occasion, wash with the recommended shampoo and conditioner in fresh water, and dry hair immediately after. Do not brush extension hair when dripping wet, before detangling from root to tips. Pat dry before brushing with leave in conditioner, and ensure they are dry properly and plait before bed.
