TL HAIR ed s letter One thing I love about hair is how it can transform your look. You can go from natural to sexy and back again in no time. Add to this the many different hair extensions and accessories out there, and you have a fresh look in a matter of minutes. Two years ago, I had long relaxed hair. After years of tying it into a pony and lengthening it with extensions, I felt I had exhausted the options that hairstyle had to offer. I needed a change, and so my journey of transformation began. My hair stylist, who always raved about my well-kept hair, couldn t believe it when I asked him for a cut. I did the pixie with cinnamon highlights, which complemented my complexion. On my next visit, we cut it shorter almost into a German cut. I liked this hairstyle even though it made my ears stick out. Now, in the past five months, I ve gone from braids to mohawks, and I love the freshness that come with each style. Now I m experimenting with HELLO FRIENDS weaves and wigs. For a recent magazine shoot, I wanted to have a different hairstyle. My stylist suggested I try a lace wig, something I always associated with covering baldness or hiding greys. My perception immediately changed I adored how it looked. A lace wig is all about instant gratification just put it on, get your desired style and take it off at the end of the day. When the team and I put together this summer issue, we were thinking of someone who works long hours but wants to be kept abreast of the latest hair trends, possibly needs to treat damaged or thinning hair and, most importantly, has to look fab in no time. My favourite feature in this isue is the celebrity-inspired hairstyles. It has it all braids, weaves, crazy colours and crops, all of which you can replicate easily. Make an impression this season and take a cue from our cover star, Nandi Mngoma, who s gone from bald to natural and now sports a German cut. Enjoy the read. Till next season.
