PV AW18/19 AUTUMN-WINTER 18/19 THE SEASON Written by Bridie Collins Technology Science & Fashion Converge Textile creatives continue to exceed expectation with developments of extraordinary beauty and innovation. Utilizing traditional methods, adopting new technologies and seeking new ways to create products that will be sustainable and friendly to the world in which we live. Science technology and fashion will converge to create a more beautiful and eco-friendly world. COLOR A story with twenty-two colors and five distinct ranges. Devoid of black, the Premiere Vision Autumn Fall 18-19 color palette proposes in its place, shadowy darks of deep purple, teal, dark chocolate brown and burgundy. Deeply saturated bright tones comprise the bulk of the story, red-orange, red-violet, electric green, rusty orange, lilac, cerulean blue and acid yellow. A dusty neutral offering of sage, mink, dusty mauve and cadet, and an off-beat range of Camel, bronze, powdery rose and dusty aqua as well as three pastel neutrals - Platinum, parchment and taupe, indicate this will be colorful fall season. Premiere Vision invites designers to generate excitement in the coming season by taking creative risks, establishing new perspectives and embracing the non-traditional. No time like the present as the golden age of technology is indeed upon us, impacting the world of textiles and fashion, propelling the industry toward changes that will invigorate and transform the world of fashion

MILLS CAFISSI This low minimum supplier of novelties, prints and basics presents a wide assortment of spectacular articles. This season they pack a punch when it comes to velvet developments. Over- embroidered patterns in tone-ontone eyelet patterns and multi-colored delicate floral motifs on dark grounds are sensational. Hammered velvets in luminous metallic tones, velvets with wide cellophane stripes and pleated metallic bonded knits are high drama DEBS AW 18/19 Cafissi Over embroidered velvet Metallic tweed Pleated jersey CLERICI TESSUTO Founded in 1922, this prestigious company continues to provide the luxury sector with truly spectacular textile design and innovation with ranges for men's and women's clothing, accessories and home furnishings. The novelties this season are especially unique, exquisitely beautiful and thoroughly modern. Designers will have fun with these bold interpretations of classic patterns in various blends ranging from elegant silky lustrous surfaces, novelty loop yarns, and cozy brushed finishes. This Japanese maker of poly and poly-blend fabrics presents a luxurious selection of piece-dye structures that are just perfect for the upcoming Fall Autumn season. This mills skill and artistry in finishing their fine fabrics truly sets them apart. Crepe structures abound, from super-light to weighty bi-stretch double crepe. Novelty solids with lustrous brushed and napped finishes, compact twills, suede crepe, and ultra-refined tweeds bonded to silky satins are elegant and highly appealing. AW 18/19 Debs Luxurious Solid Piece Dye Articles FRIZZA AW 18/19 Clerici Updated Houndstooth and Sheer FilCoupe Jacqaurds Animal prints and classic glen checks, are scattered with geometric shapes and colors or slashed with metallic stripes, transforming them into modern renditions. A compact tribal inspired diamond weave Jacquard with floating fringed stripes is playful and fun with its tufts of felted yarns tucked-in at the base of the fringes. The attention to detail in these textile creations is very typical of this high-end supplier, a testament to the successful combination of traditional craftsmanship combined with technology and superb artistry. This company is serious about creating sustainable eco-friendly collections with low impact on the environment in all their divisions. This season they present a group of solid piece-dye articles in a variety of classic structures - one hundred percent natural or bio-based, dyed and finished chemical free and certified by GOTS and ICEA. Technical fabrics are this mills specialty and they serve them up with a unique fashion flare and mastery of materials that is rather exceptional. Cozy fleece is bonded to luxe velvet, fuzzy needle punch patterns combined with a luminescent slicky tech base, crisp nylons printed with digital high tech patterns and holographic color field prints rendered on transparent and crunchy ultralight bases are sure to light up the fashion runway and keep you dry and happy on rainy days. AW 18 19 Frizza Sheer Holographic Color Field Prints Bonded Mesh over Printed Plaid

INTESA This supplier presents a broad collection from basics to high novelties with quick sampling and low minimums. Of particular interest this season is a group of cut and sew yarn dye metallic knits and novelty crepes. A dapper chevron stripe layout plays off a compact metallic tweed, and a luxe stretch crepe sports a natty cellophane encased tweed stripe. Moody, other-worldly digital floral prints play off micro-metallic novelties and bold winter plaid patterns. FURPILE IDEA Fun furs with plenty of personality is what this mill turns out - unexpected combinations of classic buffalo check patterns with widely spaced crazy long fur stripes, oversized classic plaids in yummy fall colors and curly Mongolian fur in luscious tonal stripes. Long hair high-drama furs in wild electric colors are youthful and fun, playing off more traditional bulky chenille tweeds. This product is all about having fun. AW 18/19 Furpile Idea Tweed. Long Hair Faux Fur Tonal Stripe Mongolian Fur Creators and innovators of very high-end embroideries, especially sequins, this Austrian mill stands alone in their technical mastery of their materials, machinery and creative genius. A frequent recipient of the Premiere Vision Paris award for Distinguished Textile Excellence, this heritage mill has, to use their own words, a long tradition of technological break-through combined with creative expertise resulting in astounding visual effect. This is clearly evident in their designs, along with a unique ability to lend a thoroughly modern approach to the world of sequins. The laser cut-work they create can be applied to a variety of bases- this season they present a delicate, Asian inspired floral on an exquisitely beautiful silk velvet. No wonder this fine company will be celebrating their one hundred thirty year anniversary in 2018! MALHIA KENT This singular mill turns out a collection this season full of their signature novelty tweed patterns with flying fringes and floats that have the jarring effect of a random ragged mis-weaves, a clever design element that is startling and beautiful at the same time. In keeping with the fascination this season for surface texture, a beautiful group of felted patterns, with a distinct nod to the 50 s era, is artful and cozy. HOH HOFERHECT EMBRODERIES AW18/19 Intesa Bold Plaid Digital Abstract Floral Collage Mini Metallic Sequin Tweed Mahlia Kent AW 18/19 Cozy Felted Jaquard PACINI NELLO AW18/19 HOH over embroidered sequins and Intricate Jacquard This sporty but elegant knit resource offers felted lofty articles with irresistible tactile appeal. Brushed-backed steep twill fleece, felted heathers in soft neutral colors are great basics for casual wear. Dimensional jacquard stripes in two-tone combinations are easy yet elegant and a fanciful fil-coupe jacquard cloud pattern floating on an indigo base looks natty with a broken twill indigo tweed pattern. AW18/19 Pacini Nello Brushed Back Steep Twill Indigo Tweed Knit and Cloud Jacquard

PERU RATTI The manufacturing forum at the Autumn Winter 18-19 Premiere Vision New York Show featured twenty-two Peruvian resources shining a light on a country that has a flourishing textile base fueled by an abundance of domestic high-end raw materials: Pima Cotton, Alpaca, and Vicuna. In addition, a workforce of highly skilled spinners and weavers utilizing the latest technologies have created incredibly innovative hybrid articles and blends utilizing cellulose fibers. Well known for their expertise in fully-fashioned and cut-and sew knitwear with a long history of dedication to fine craftsmanship, their investment in technology and commitment to maintain social, environmental and sustainable practices makes Peru a highly appealing resource to consider. Ratti for Responsibility is the tag-line this season for this maker of high-end, exquisitely beautiful textiles. Part of the largest textile group in Europe, Ratti is committed to making themselves the world leader in making fully responsible textiles. Their dedicated attention to every stage of production, from raw materials to finished production, the design and running of their factory, lowering CO2 emissions, waste management to insure a circular economy and finishing PFC free textiles is simply astonishing. The collection this season is a delightful mix of enigmatic collage prints, watercolor cityscapes, over printed classic yarn dye menswear patterns, fanciful organic metallic jacquard patterns. PERU AW 18/19 Alpaca Neutrals ROBERTO FANTOCCOLI TESSUTI PROPOSTE Working in precious fibers, most notably silk, this mill expresses a singular aesthetic with a uniquely modern flare. High-end luxe creations, often with a contemporary edge, are this mills specialty. Novelty solid stand-outs this season are a silk Triple Georgette in tubular construction and a reversible iridescent Duchess Satin with stretch. A digital print of oversized hard edge geometrics float on a sheer silk organza multi colored organic pattern and a shimmery cellophane yarn forms a tight patterned ground for an abstract watercolor floral. It is easy to see why this talented group of creatives were acknowledged for their Exceptional Design Innovation at Premiere Vision Paris this season. The collection this season is full of imaginative creations. Some of the highlights are stunning jacquards that combine tribal like motifs with broad painterly brush strokes in a most artful and brilliant color play, tonal woodblock patterns and a group of classic inspired foulard patterns updated with digital like motifs. The colorations are remarkably beautiful. Fantoccoli AW 18/19 Painterly Tribal Jacquard and Woodblock Tribal Jacquard
