Properties This uniquely formulated rust remover presents one of the latest in rust removing technologies which is truly water based, neutral, odorless, biodegradable, versatile and powerful. Safer Rust Remover quickly removes rust from ferrous metal and stainless steel. Non-corrosive, non-flammable, and non-toxic. And here is the best bit Rustbuster safer rust remover can be used over and over again no need to throw it away. Safer Rust Remover contains no solvents, or hazardous ingredients. Works at room temperature. Requires no special equipment. Easy and safe to use. Safe on all surfaces and will not harm soft metals, plastics, rubbers, PVC, most paints, and other surfaces unharmed by water alone. Inhibits rust from reforming for up to 4 weeks indoors. Will not pit or discolour un-rusted steel. Here we took one rusty Austin seven gearbox an 18 ltr parts washer (make sure your parts washer can be used with water based products) and one 5 ltr Rustbuster safer rust remover and diluted 4 parts water to one part rust remover. The parts washer was left to run overnight and we think the results are outstanding. Other parts we have de rusted have included brake callipers, hinges including one very seized veteran Austin princess long bonnet roll over hinge, not only does the rust remover dissolve the rust it leaves all of the moving parts as good as new. How to use Remove all excess dirt, oil, mud, etc. Rinse item and immerse item fully in Safer Rust Remove for 20 minutes (Deeply rusted parts (5mm or deeper) may require overnight soaking); Check progress periodically. Once rust is removed, rinse item with water.
