The Problem Cost pressures are continually eroding product quality, with many people choosing to buy lower-cost, lower-quality products to care for their patients. The latest NICE guidelines highlight the requirement for a cultural shift within the NHS to become a truly patient-centred service, focusing on improving the patient experience. This experience is directly linked to the quality of care they receive and the quality of the products used to deliver that care. 1

Case Study 1 Comfifast Easywrap Garments Wet wrapping therapy using ComfiFast Easywrap Garments can be a powerful tool in managing severe atopic eczema. Demonstrates that when used as part of a holistic treatment plan, wet wrapping therapy using ComfiFast Easywrap Garments helped improve the patient s itch scratch cycle, skin condition, and overall well-being. The seven-year-old Asian girl had originally presented with eczema on her limbs, showing erythematous, excoriated patches and localised lichenification with some oozing and crusting on forearms and wrists.

Case Study 2 ComfiFast MultiStretch Treating chronic lichenification using ComfiFast MultiStretch tubular bandages. Shows that itching reduced within the first two weeks and stopped completely at 20 days. At week six, there was a marked improvement in lichenification with lesions becoming flatter, whilst the frequency of the bandaging was reduced to twice-weekly. The six-month review showed an 83% clearance with no active lesions. A 31-year-old Caucasian man had presented with lichen simplex chronicus on his lower limbs. The condition had persisted for 12 months and had failed to respond to previous treatments prescribed by the GP.

Case Study 3 Comfifast Easywrap Garments Case Study 4 Comfififast MultiStretch Alleviating guttate psoriasis using ComfiFast Easywrap Garments. Found that not only did psoriasis improve considerably, but the patient also found that the garments helped minimise any smell from the medications, prevented staining on clothes and were discreet, comfortable and easily concealed under her school uniform. Previously, an otherwise healthy 11-year-old Caucasian girl presented with a large number of flat red scaly patches on her trunk and chest following a severe throat infection. The patient felt disfigured by her condition and reported that some classmates had been staring and teasing her about her skin condition. Occlusive bandaging in the successful treatment of pityriasis amiantacea. Four weeks after beginning treatment (fashioning a cap from a 10m Comfififast MultiStretch tubular bandage to use alongside a keratolytic ointment ), the symptoms had reduced by 60% and at the three-month review, the condition was in remission and treatment had been discontinued. The 21-year-old female was originally referred to the dermatology clinic with adherent silvery asbestos-like scaling affecting the scalp and shafts of the hair. The condition had been impacting her quality of life and resulted in her feeling anxious with low self-esteem.

Case Study 5 Comfififast Easywrap Garments Treating chronic lichenification using ComfiFast MultiStretch tubular bandages. After six weeks of intense emollient therapy and wet wrapping, the patient s skin condition had improved significantly and by six months her skin was well moisturised and completely free of scales. Use of the Comfififast Easywrap Garments helped keep the skin well moisturised, prevented staining of clothing and bedding, reduced the itching and acted as a physical barrier to scratching. The four-year-old Caucasian girl had previously presented to the dermatology clinic with generalised dry skin and itching affecting her limbs and torso. The itching had affected the girls sleep every night for many years and this had had a major impact on her overall quality of life. What s great about the garments is that they stopped my daughter feeling different at school because she could wear them discretely under her normal school clothes. She has started to lead a normal life like the other children in school. You know how cruel Children can be. She used to get picked on before. This garment is a godsend.
