Problem skin Propionibacterium acnes is the bacteria responsible for inflamed acne breakouts. It is generally harmless but when pores become engorged with excess oil and dead skin cells, it creates an environment where P. acnes can excessively grow. This then triggers inflammation within the pore, creating a papule, pimple, or cyst. Reducing the P. acnes population is therefore an important step in controlling acne. Teenagers and adults are often very selfconscious when skin breaks out, either as a result of acne and skin inflammation. Fortunately the cosmetics industry offers a number of ingredients to prevent, treat and target problematic skin. Canadian Willowherb Dermosoft Decalact Recommended use level: 1-3% Recommended use level: 0.5 1% (leave-on) and 1 2% (rinse-off). (INCI: Water (and) Epilobium Angustifolium Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract) is an edible (used in tea bags) multi-functional active ingredient that contains bioactive molecules such as Oenothein B which has 5-α-reductase inhibitory activity, anti-oxidant and antibacterial properties. Its primary function is as a non-steroidal anti-irritant ingredient. In vitro experiments have demonstrated free radical scavenging ability. In addition, Canadian Willowherb shows strong antibacterial activity on P. acnes. Its anti-irritant and redness reduction properties have been clinically demonstrated, showing a strong reduction of skin redness induced by chemicals or UV exposure within 30 minutes of use. Ideal for anti-acne, redness, antiageing, intimate care, oral care (anti-irritant/ bleeding gums), sun care (reduces UVinduced erythema) and baby care (nappy rash). CYTOFRUIT WATERS Lemon (INCI: Citrus Limon Fruit Extract) is an organic certified water from Lemon fruits harvested in Mediterranean organic fields. Rich in Vitamin C, Potassium and Citric Acid, Lemon fruits cleanse and exfoliate dull and oily skins, whilst refreshing and quenching the skin s thirst to provide a radiant glow. In addition, Lemon fruit also offers natural anti-bacterial and astringent properties. Thanks to the presence of oligo-elements, this CYTOFRUIT Water could sustain skin biological benefits through an improvement of cell vitality, a protection against external agents or a physiological improvement. Standard grade (Bio 99) is preserved with Potassium Sorbate. Bio grade is available and is preservative-free. Recommended usage level: 1 100% (INCI: Sodium Caproyl/Lauroyl Lactyl Lactate) is a natural and effective active (from sugar beet) against gram positive bacteria and yeasts with efficacy against Melassezia Furfur (dandruff), Trichophyton (athletes foot), Candida Albicans (thrush) and P.acnes (acne). For dandruff applications the optimum ph is 5.5, which is lower than the more traditionally used Octypirox (ph 7). The optimum ph for a healthy scalp is 5.5. Upon testing, Decalact was found to outperform Climbazole and Triclosan in treatments for Athletes Foot. Decalact is also effective in nail care. In thrush treatments, Decalact was found to immediately reduce Candida Albicans. For acne, Decalact was found to perform comparably to 0.5% Salicylic Acid. There are no usage restrictions for Decalact. Easy to handle version is Dermosoft Decalact Liquid. Drieline (INCI: Sorbitol (and) Yeast Extract) is a highly purified Yeast Polysaccharide extracted from Saccharomyces cerevisiae. This Yeast, used in a multitude of common fermentation processes (beer, alcohol, bread) reinforces the natural skin defence system as well as cell renewal. The Polysaccharide is obtained by an eco-friendly manufacturing process. Ideal for anti-aging and anti-microbial applications as well as the protection of Langerhan cells which are not protected by Melanin. Recommended use level: 0.5-2%
Greasy skin CITROMAT (INCI: Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Fruit Powder, Citrus Grandis Peel Powder, Citrus Medica Limonum Fruit Powder) is made from the peel and pulp of citrus fruits and has the appearance of a vegetable talc; the surface of each particle being fine and regular, almost spherical micro bead. INKA AKECH (INCI: Propanediol (and) Water (and) Schkuhria Pinnata Extract) is an exclusive ingredient to 3QP from the Canchalagua native to the Andean region. Traditionally used for the treatment of oily skin and skin problems caused by oily skin and toxins such as dermatitis, eczema and acne. It also provides defense against cellular oxidation and collagen degradation, protecting oily skin from premature ageing. Ideal for oily skins prone to blackheads and acne, as well as greasy hair. Recommended use level: 1 10% Linumine (INCI: Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed Extract) is a natural Flax extract standardised at 20% Lignans. Its inhibition activity of 5-α-reductase regulates the sebum production of oily mature skin. In addition the Lignans from Flax Seed help modulate Oestrogen levels. It is a rich concentrate of nutritive compounds indispensable to development of new life. On a daily basis, the natural building blocks of Pangenine Lolium energise and protect the skin against external aggressors such as pollution, oxidative agents or chronic inflammatory factors (so-called inflame-ageing ). Pangenine Lolium exhibits a 4-in-1 action; skin nutrition thanks to essential Amino acids, energy for the Mitochondria, modulation of inflammatory mediators, and reduction of the accumulation of oxidative mediators at a tissue level. Keratolytic Agents A.H.A. EXTRACT 44 GLYCERIN (INCI: Aqua, Glycerin, Citric Acid, Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Malic Acid, Tartaric Acid, Citrus Medica Limonum Extract, Pyrus Malus Extract, Saccharum Officinarum Extract, Vaccinium Myrtillus Extract, Vitis Vinifera Extract) is a mix of fresh fruits extracts (Lemon, Bilberry, Apple, Sugar cane and Grape) with a complementary blend of alpha-hydroxy-acids (Citric, Lactic, Glycolic and Tartaric), also called fruit acids. It is a standardised extract with a 44% AHAs content in water and vegetal glycerin with no preservative. The BAMBOO FIBRES POWDER is suggested as a very soft scrub agent, especially for delicate and sensitive skin types. Retinol-type It is a well known fact that severe acne sufferers are prescribed topical and oral treatments of Retinol. Whilst this treatment is very successful it comes with a number of undesirable side effects. This is where Retinol countertypes come into their own. We are pleased to offer the following safe alternatives to Retinol. Kahai Oil (INCI: Caryodendron orinocense nut oil) is a 100% natural oil, extracted by cold pressing the nuts of the Cacay tree. It has a high penetration capability, a dry skin feel, and a mild nutty scent, which fades quickly. Its high content of natural Vitamin E, F & Retinol nourishes, softens and repairs damaged skin. Kahai Oil revitalises the skins radiance, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and giving it a long lasting hydration. Kahai Oil contains 50% more Vitamin E and twice the amount of Linoleic Acid than Argan oil; and it has three times more Retinol than Rose Hip Oil. Recommended use level: Various. Lanablue (INCI: Sorbitol (and) Water (and) Algae Extract) takes its force from the heart of the resources of the Cascadia region in North America and is blue in colour (no colour when formulated) due to the natural pigment of Phytosienine.
