To clarify the level of alterations expected to be performed on garment provided through this contract add the following statement to Uniform Purchase requirements as paragraph 14: Uniforms provided to SAWS employees will on occasion require alterations. Alterations will be limited to adjusting clothing for a better, more comfortable fit. An example of a required alteration would be adjusting garment hems longer or shorter to allow for the length of arms and/or legs or adjustments to waists and / or inseams as required when an employee s actual size may fall between available sizes. It is in the Contractor s best interest to suggest uniform sizing that minimizes the need for any alterations. However, even with the correct sizing choice, some alterations will still be required. As such, the tailoring of garments is not included in this scope. Saws will not pay any additional amount for garments to be tailored, custom-made, or altered to the point that they appear to be custom made.
