MISSION The L.A. Taco Festival is organized by a nonprofit organization called Jovenes, Inc. Jovenes is a place of personal transformation for homeless youth, helping them become productive and integrated members of the community. 100% of our net proceeds go towards creating homes and community for homeless youth! www.jovenesinc.org When we started the L.A. Taco Festival, our goal was to bring our city together for a great cause and highlight the independent small businesses and family-owned restaurants who served the tastiest tacos in town. Since 2011, we ve continued to expand the festival from its humble beginnings at Mariachi Plaza to an event that now attracts thousands of foodies, influencers, and taco-eating Angelinos. In 2015, the festival moved to Grand Park, in the heart of Downtown LA. In this new, more centralized location, the LA Taco Festival continues to grow as one of LA s most anticipated events - bringing attention to your brand! Will Memorial Fountain with a new wading/reflecting pool, a performance lawn, and a community terrace. Grand Park is a place to come together in a welcoming and distinctly urban oasis. Grand Park partners with Jovenes for promotion of the LA Taco Festival posting event information to their social media accounts and events calendar. Why Funds generated from the L.A. Taco Festival enable Jovenes, Inc. to continue working to end youth homelessness on the streets of Los Angeles. Jovenes welcomes homeless, at-risk youth (ages 18-25) and helps them create a pathway to personal growth and success through housing and supportive services. Offering a range of housing options, personal development opportunities and employment programs, we deliver hope and confidence through a process of graduated goals, real achievement and nurturing social interaction. Annually, Jovenes is able to provide Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing, and Permanent Supportive Housing to over 130 youth. When the LA Taco Festival began in 2011, Jovenes was able to house 20 youth at a time. Since then, Jovenes has tripled in size and is now able to house over 70 youth at any given point in time.
