Silhouette s Zeitgeist Eyewear should be more than a simple visual aid; it should be a stylish accessory with a unique design that combines both lightness and comfort. This vision born over fifty years ago, in 1964 to be exact, led to the birth of Silhouette International. With about 1,600 employees all over the world and exports that account for 95% of its turnover, the Austrian company is still totally owned by the founding family, Schmied. Currently at the helm are CEO Jan Rosenberg and COO/CFO Thomas Windischbauer. We are on the runways in London, New York and Milan. At the moment we are working together with a new talent, so stay tuned! Götti choses the Zurich National Museum Five protagonists were photographed for the Götti Switzerland campaign, all of whom harbor a professional love of things which are simple yet beautiful. The campaign shots were taken in the extension of the National Museum Zurich, an angular architectural landmark made of concrete, which gives the original building dating back to 1889 a contemporarily august feel. The building was drafted by the Basel-based architecture firm Christ & Gantenbein. The photographer is Mathilde Agius and the protagonists are the cineaste This Brunner, the designer Julie Richoz, the gallery owner Marina Olsen and the architects Emanuel Christ and Christoph Gantenbein. Early renewal for Byblos and Jet Set Group The two companies have renewed the license agreement for the design, manufacture and exclusive worldwide distribution of men s and women s sunglasses and prescription eyewear. The 3-year partnership from 2018 through 2020 was renewed early because of the success of the Byblos eyewear collection. The renewal of the license agreement with Jet Set Group was a decision that not only consolidates a mutually satisfactory relationship, it is also a prerequisite for further developing an exclusive partnership oriented toward establishing an increasingly effective identity also in the eyewear segment commented Mathias Facchini, CEO of Swinger International S.p.A., owner of Byblos. The line of eyewear will continue to be made in Italy by the Marche-based company and will be enriched with unique limited edition projects. YOUR VISION. OUR FOCUS. Police with blogger Chiara Biasi Next month, the De Rigo Vision house brand will launch the eyewear capsule collection Chiara Biasi for Police. The blogger was chosen because she is the perfect embodiment of the Police woman: A modern rock n roll woman who is both sexy and feminine, but doesn t flaunt it, just like Chiara Biasi. Together we selected 6 models from Sun2017; they have been reinterpreted with her in exclusive plastics with new color effects and custom details, said brand Creative Director Enrico Furlan. Created in collaboration with Chiara, the capsule collection features innovative acetates with the new Marijuana leaf print and mirrored lenses with an outlined leaf that can be glimpsed inside the lens. Mykita stays ith Borthwick Mykita presents the new collection via a series of personal portraits featuring a line up of mixed characters photographed by longtime collaborator and friend of the maison, artist Mark Borthwick. In his ninth campaign for the German brand Mark Borthwick places his living subjects front and centre, making a departure from the landscape and travel-tinged theme of previous years. Photographed in L.A., the character-driven campaign lives through the compelling individuals scouted locally for the photo shoot, including friends and family of Mykita and Borthwick. Some quirky creatures of the animal kingdom also found their way into the photos and fit right into the unaffected style of the motley troupe. The history of design on display in Turin Created with the aim of promoting the culture of industrial design, the Museo del Design at None, just outside Turin, has become a benchmark for those working in the field or who simply love the sector. The Museum provides an opportunity to retrace the history of design through such iconic objects as the Superleggera chair by Giò Ponti, the Taccia lamp, or the Mezzadro stool by Achille Castiglioni. Covering the period from the beginning of the 1900s to the present day, the exhibition illustrates the changes in tastes and lifestyles that took place during the last century. Gagosian hosts Giuseppe Penone On Friday, January 27, the Gagosian Gallery in Rome will inaugurate an exhibition dedicated to Giuseppe Penone. Open until April 15, 2017, the exhibition titled Equivalenze (Equivalences) unveils the works of one of the main exponents of the Arte Povera movement, a current that stands out because of its active engagement with nature and time and an awareness of the revelatory power of art. In Equivalenze Penone uses sculpture to reveal correspondences between the human body and nature. The works testify to his idea that, like rocks, trees and water, we are also constantly changing and being changed by our environments.
