2017 CITY OF WHYLLA ART PRIZE ENTRY TERMS AND CONDITIONS Established by the Whyalla Arts Council in 1972, the Whyalla Art Prize was initially designed to promote emerging artists; since this time the prize has flourished and developed into a significant national award and an important exhibition of contemporary art in Australia. Through this initiative, the Whyalla community has acquired an impressive and notable collection of artworks in iconic styles that reflect the spirit and the changing face of Australia. The Whyalla Art Prize is open to all Australian artists (citizens or residents for at least twelve months) with a major prize of $25,000. Entries must be wall-based works in any medium other than photography. Following the success of our digital initiative in 2015, the Whyalla Art Prize is again encouraging moving image artists to enter works in this year s prize. Adelaide Airport has joined us as an exhibition partner for 2017 and will host a selection of artworks from the Whyalla Art Prize in their concourse from December 2017 January 2018.
