The highest bidder shall be the buyer, unless subject to prior reserve. If any dispute arises, the Auctioneer shall have absolute discretion to settle it and to put any disputed Lot up again. ANTIQUE AUCTIONS shall act as agents only; they have full discretion to refuse any bids, to divide any lot, to combine any two or more lots and to withdraw any lot or lots from the sale without, in any case, giving any reason, thereof. In the case of Lots upon which there is a reserve, the Auctioneer shall have the right to bid on behalf of the vendor. Vendors are not permitted to bid on their own entries in order to raise the price obtained. A vendor is permitted to bid once on his own entry in order to buy in, the lot in question, and this lot will be immediately knocked down to him. If instructed, ANTIQUE AUCTIONS will execute bids and advise intending purchasers. This service is free. Lots will always be bought as cheaply as is allowed by such other bids and reserves as are on our books and by bids from persons present at the sale. Prospective buyers are asked to register with ANTIQUE AUCTIONS through the purchase of a sale catalogue. If they fail to do this they are asked to leave their names and addresses in the office. Care is taken to ensure that any statement as to the authorship, attribution, origin, date, age, provenance and condition is reliable and accurate, but all such statements are statements of opinion and are not to be taken down as statements or representations of fact. The Management of ANTIQUE AUCTIONS reserves the right in forming their opinion, to consult and rely upon any expert or authority considered by them to be reliable. No warranty whatsoever is given by ANTIQUE AUCTIONS or any vendor to any buyer in respect of any lot. A BID SHALL BE TAKEN AS PROOF THAT THE BUYER HAS MADE HIMSELF FULLY ACQUAINTED WITH THE LOTS FOR WHICH HE BIDS. In order to avoid delay in clearing purchases, ALL PURCHASERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY IN CASH. In the event of a purchaser paying by cheque (Bankers), the goods purchased will only be released on the cheques being cleared by Presentation for Special Clearance. Purchasers tendering cheques will be required to pay the clearance charges. NO PAYMENTS, OTHER THAN DEPOSITS, WILL BE ACCEPTED DURING THE AUCTION. Lots shall be paid for in full and subject to the above condition (7), removed from ANTIQUE AUCTIONS premises at the buyer s risk and expense by the end of the first working day after the conclusion of the sale. Any lots not taken away shall remain with ANTIQUE AUCTIONS at the sole risk of the buyer and subject to charge for storage as provided on daily charge. After a period of THREE working days, after the auction day, ANTIQUE AUCTIONS will be at liberty to re-sell the said goods not removed, without prior notice to the buyer. NO LOTS MAY BE CLAIMED OR REMOVED UNTIL THE SALE HAS BEEN CONCLUDED. An intending purchaser must place a deposit before the auction as per limit set by the management. Monies will be refunded if bids are unsuccessful. Items purchased must be collected the following day after the auction and or the days shown for collection. The deposit will be forfeited, at the Management s discretion, in the event of non-compliance. In the event of the auction-purchase price not being paid within Four working days after the Auction, the Lot in question shall be sold to any interested buyer at the price of the auction and without prejudice to any claim in respect of their own charges or losses incurred on behalf of the seller that ANTIQUE AUCTIONS may have against the defaulting purchaser.
