Genesee Academy School Uniform Policy Unless otherwise noted below, the following rules apply to all students. High school students are exempt from uniform policy rules of color. All STUDENTS: Modesty and decorum should be observed at all times. Clothes must be clean and ironed at all times. Baseball caps and other hats are not allowed. Dark colored shoes (black, brown, or grey). Shoes must be non-marking and rubber-soled. Pre-K students: Are not required to wear uniform. No flip flops due to physical activities. Girls K 4th Grade Requirements: Khaki or navy blue polo dresses, jumpers, skirts, or slacks. Light blue or navy blue blouses. White or navy blue leggings, socks, or tights. Light blue or navy blue collar shirts. Students in 2-4th grade will be praying therefore they should have Salah cover or sweater available. All students should purchase their uniform from Lands End. GA logo is required on the top piece worn; it has to be visible whether it s a cardigan, jumper or a shirt. Students are expected to wear light blue/ navy shirts under the Khaki jumpers, skirts or slacks. Students are expected to wear light blue shirts under the navy jumpers, skirts or slacks. Soft/rubber soles shoes are recommended; boots are not allowed at all. Students in 2-4th grade must wear a jumper or skirt to the knees. Students must wear leggings under their dresses, jumpers, or skirts (white or navy). Socks must be white or navy blue Navy blue cardigans or sweaters may be worn in the winter months. No colored hair embellishments. No nail polish. Girls 5th 8th Grade Requirements: Hijabs should be navy blue or white covering entire hair and neck area with a pin if it is not two pieces. Collar blouses, jumpers, polo dresses or shirts must be worn with full sleeves and knee length. The approved colors for collared blouses and shirts are light blue and navy. Long khaki or navy blue skirts that reach the ankles, worn with untucked shirts. Slacks must be loose khaki or navy blue. Students are expected to wear light blue/ navy shirts under the Khaki jumper along with navy slacks. Students are expected to wear light blue/ navy shirts over khaki skirts. Students are expected to wear light blue shirts under navy jumper and khaki slacks. Students are expected to wear light blue shirts over navy skirts. Middle school girls may wear the traditional over garment (Abaya/Jilbab) but it must be navy blue (GA color). Soft/rubber soles shoes are recommended; high heels or boots are not allowed at all. All students should purchase their uniform from Lands End. GA logo is required on the top piece worn which will be visible whether it s a cardigan, jumper or shirt. Skinny jeans or tight pants are not allowed under any circumstances even under Jilbabs. Transparent and tight clothes will not be accepted. Socks must be navy blue or white. Navy blue sweaters may be worn in the winter months. No colored hair embellishments. No nail polish Girls High School Dress Code: Hijabs should be worn at all times. Collar blouses, jumpers and shirts must be knee length with full sleeves. Skirts should reach the ankles. Slacks must be loose. Girls may wear the traditional over garment (Jilbab). No high-heeled shoes, no slippers. Boys in K 8th Grade Requirements: Khaki or navy slacks Light blue or navy shirts Dress shirts should be tucked in but polo style shirts do not have to be tucked in. All students should purchase their uniform from Lands End. GA logo is required on the top piece worn which will be visible whether it s a cardigan or a shirt. A navy blue sweater may be worn during winter months. No skinny or tight pants allowed. Socks must be navy or white. Boys High School Dress Code: Slacks Shirts No tight or skinny pants or shorts (Gym shorts allowed during gym class and must be knee length) No offensive language or inappropriate graphics on any attire. Important: Any unacceptable uniform/dress is at the discretion of the administration. The school administration reserves the right to judge what complies with the school uniform/dress code. Students violating uniform policy or dress code may be sent home. Uniform Ordering Process: You may begin shopping at http://www.landsend.com/pp/schoolsearch.html?action=landing&selectedschoolnum=900159872 Enter your child s name, grade, gender and click save school. STEP 1: Enter your Child s name, Grade and Gender.
