Kindergarten - 5th grade students On the bottom Khaki colored only (tan or stone khaki, not green) pants, skorts, skirts or shorts twill style 1. Jumpers/skirts/skorts/shorts must be no more than 4 inches above the knee. 2. Pants and shorts are "docker style only". No rivets at the pocket, no cargo pockets, no knit pants. 3. Tights or solid-colored,ankle length leggings can be worn under skirts. 4. Girls may wear shorts under skirts as long as they are not visible when standing. 5. All items must be clean, in good repair (no holes or tears), and fit properly (not too short or too tight). 6. All items listed above can be worn all year On the top Polo style shirts 1. A polo style shirt is defined as a full short or long sleeve, button placket, non-fitted golf style shirt. It must be long enough to tuck into the pant or skirt. If when arms are raised, the shirt comes untucked, it is too short! 2. Can be short or long sleeve 3. Can be white, kelly green or navy in color. Kelly green and navy shirts may only be purchased through the school that will have the approved SPS logo on them. 4. Only approved SPS logo on any shirt 5. Only plain white t-shirts may be worn beneath polos. No long sleeved shirts should be worn beneath short sleeved polos. 6. Polos or button down dress shirts must be worn under sweatshirts. Sweatshirts 1. Only solid colored, navy blue crewneck style sweatshirts (no hoods or logos) or SPS school approved sweatshirts 2. Sweatshirts must be in good repair and fit properly. No alterations of cutting off pockets or cutting thumbholes will be accepted. Accessories Belts 1. Belts must be worn at all times if the pant/short/skirt has belt loops. Belt loops are not allowed to be cut off. 2. Belts must be trouser style only: No scarf, ribbon or chain belts 3. Belts may be any color Shoes/Socks 1. Shoes should be tennis shoes or dress shoes with a solid back. No sandals or shoes with open toes. 2. Socks of any style and color, appropriate with the shoe. Socks must be worn at all times. Scarves 1. Neck scarves are not allowed. Hair/Nails 1. No sculpturing haircuts or hairstyles (i.e. adding gel to look like a mowhawk or shaving designs into haircuts.) 2. Boys: Hair must be off of collar in the back and bangs should be kept out of eyes. Hair should be its natural color and well-groomed. Questionable styles, including color and length, will be left to the discretion of the administrator. 3. Girls: Hair must be pulled out of eyes and properly groomed so that it is not a distraction. Hair should be its natural color. 4. Hair accessories should be basic and not overly ornate and distracting. 5. Girls: Nail polish may be worn. No fake or gel fingernails are allowed. Jewelry/Makeup 1. No makeup for grades K-5 2. Minimal jewelry- one earring per ear (No chandelier earrings or hoops larger than 1 ), one bracelet or sports band, one necklace only It is the expectation of SPS that all uniform items must be in good repair to be worn to school. Pants must be hemmed, no fraying at the bottom; shirts must have all buttons attached. Uniforms must be clean and tidy at all times.
Kindergarten 5th grade students will have one free dress Friday a month (last Friday of the month). In addition, they may also purchase a coupon book from the student council that allows them an additional 6 free dress Fridays throughout the year. Parent Club also gives free dress coupons for fundraising prizes and incentives for certain programs. All Free Dress Coupons must be used on FRIDAYS ONLY. The school office will also offer free dress at their discretion for special holidays and events. St. Patrick School considers the non-compliance of dress code to be a disrespect issue and disciplinary action will take place for repeated offenses. A detailed code of rules and consequences for dress code violations will be sent home with all students at the beginning of each school year. Students may also wear solid navy crewneck sweatshirts. Sweatshirts with logos (i.e. Under Armor or Nike) may not be worn in the building. 2. Middle School students will receive Free Dress on all Fridays as long as they have not had any uniform infractions throughout the week. Any uniform infraction (including untucked shirts, no belt, and unapproved sweatshirt) will result in this privilege being revoked. No other free dress days will occur for middle school students and no free dress coupons will be given or allowed to be purchased to use on any other day other than at the discretion of the office for holidays, special circumstances. Dress code will be tracked on the students pride sheet. Non-uniform dress (Free Dress Days) On days that have been designated at free dress, students must adhere to the following guidelines: On days when out-of-uniform attire is approved, modest and tasteful attire is always a requisite. Length and fit of clothing always follows the uniform guidelines. These would include but are not limited to the following: socks at all times, no bare midriffs, no spaghetti straps, tank tops straps must be 2 inches wide, no tight or low-cut clothing, no suggestive writing on t-shirts or other pieces of clothing. Jeans/shorts/skirts cannot contain rips or tears. Tights/Leggings/Yoga pants must be worn with shirts/sweaters/skirts that cover bottoms. Clothing must be neat and clean and fit appropriately. Choices should include clothing that is recognized as proper school attire. When there is a question about the propriety of selected attire, make wise choices or choose the uniform. Questionable styles are left to the discretion of the administration.
