About Salon Hijab Academy At Salon Hijab Academy, we offer fast track NVQ & VRQ courses at various levels to cater to students who are either beginners in the industry or advanced learners. We deliver the courses in a safe women s only environment, ensuring classes are no larger than 15 pupils, we create smaller private classes for learners to receive a higher quality of learning as well as having more one on one time with their lecturer. Due to the short length of our fast track courses pupils must attend all classes and meet their deadlines to avoid falling behind, this is a fast track course therefore runs at a more intensive and quicker pace. Level 2 - Ideal for students with no previous experience or qualifications in the hair and beauty industry learning the basic practical skills and theory in their chosen field. Level 3 Students who have completed their Level 2 Qualification and looking to learn further advanced skills in their chosen field. Level 4 Designed for graduated level 3 students looking to go into teaching hair and beauty, we offer teaching courses, Assessing and IQA qualifications. About Our Courses Our courses run for a total of 10 to 18 weeks depending on the course and level you have enrolled onto. You will be required to attend 4 days a week, the first 2 days shall be with your lecturer in class and the additional 2 days shall be completed on the salon floor practicing & perfecting your new skills on real clients as well as completing your assessments. All students must attend the 4 days a week to achieve their full mandatory learning hours and assessments. We provide a variety of resources for all students such as Moodle, with Moodle you will be able to find all your online resources set by lecturers for your classes, revision material, exam help, calendar events and contact to communicate with your lecturer. We also offer online videos for you to practice your skills at home. 3
Timetable and Course Schedule After enrolment, all students shall receive their timetable for the programme s learning days and hours, as well as a course schedule to show you the weekly agenda and modules set by your lecturer, it is up to you to stay on track following this agenda to meet your deadlines on time as the lecturers will continue to follow the course schedule and move on to the next set of modules or tasks. Enrichment At Salon Hijab Academy we offer enrichment programmes for our learners to help further their knowledge of the products they are working with as well as helping them to understand the industry. We offer enrichment days out as well as in class visits. Enrichment ranges from Paul Mitchell and Wella classes, to Dermalogica and make-up brand visits. What to Bring All students will receive a kit list and general list of what is required whilst studying at Salon Hijab Academy from their tutor on Induction day. It is important students have all that is required and that this is bought in to every class. Student Guide & Contract All students will receive a Student guide when they have successfully enrolled onto the course, you must read and understand what is asked of before starting the course, you will also be taken through the guide by your lecturer on the first day of class. Students will receive an additional contract that must be signed by the showing full understanding. Students who are not able to follow the agreed terms of the contract may be issues a warning or withdrawn prematurely from the course. 4
Graduation After successful completion of your course all students will be invited to a graduation ceremony where they will be able to bring in friends and family to join in on the celebration with them on this occasion. The day will consist of refreshments, various awards for the highest achieving students and the certificate ceremony where you will be able to collect your VTCT certification as well as an inhouse certification from the academy head. We also offer CV building and interview help to prepare students for finding work in their chosen industry.
