Polo Shirt This design takes its inspiration from the medal ribbons which are worn on the left side of a soldier s chest. It is made from a white picque cotton fabric and has a collar and button placket. It will have a mock medal ribbon embroidered on the left of the chest (see design below). It is to be worn on casual occasions and could be paired with jeans in the colder months or shorts such as those seen here in the summer months. Cardigan This was inspired by soldiers day sacks, it is a cardigan made from a green wool and cotton blend jersey fabric. One key feature is the brown leather cross that is formed on the front and back. Additionally, a brown leather bag that is fastened by two buckles (see below) will be permanently attached to the centre of the back. There is ribbing at the collar, cuff and hem and it is fastened by a zip. It will be lined with a satin fabric that is printed with the picture below, the poppy will be positioned so it is in the centre of the back panel. This cardigan is designed to be worn by somebody who wants to make a statement as an alternative to a jacket during the cool midseason months. Sam Browne Jumper This jumper is inspired by the Sam Browne belt issued to British Army officers. It is made from a green wool and cotton blend jersey fabric and has brown leather panelling on the front that forms a shape resembling that of a Sam Browne. At the side of the jumper there is a pouch pocket that is designed to resemble the holster where the gun is carried. It will be of a size that will fit a smart phone and will be secured to the jumper by poppers so it can be removed. It has ribbing at the neck, cuff and hem. Wax Cotton Jacket This jacket is inspired by those worn by US soldiers; it has a utilitarian style with epaulettes at the shoulders and pockets on the front which will be closed by buttons. There will be a belt that goes round the waist that will be secured by a 2 pronged buckle (see below). The jacket will be fastened by buttons and will be made from a waxed cotton. Woollen Overcoat This formal overcoat is based on the designs of the French Army s trench coats. It is made using a blue and grey wool check fabric. It will be shaped using darts, fastened by brass buttons and have a slit in the back. The cuffs will be ornamented by 3 brass buttons. It has a stand collar and flap pockets. It will be lined with a pattern made from the poppy and the cornflower (as symbols of British and French Rememberance) which will be printed onto. Leather Jacket This jacket has been inspired by those worn by the pilots in the RAF combined as well as the buckles that are seen throughout military uniforms. The main body is made from soft black cows leather with a natural grain. The panels that run across the body as well as down the sleeves are made from a contrasting textured soft tumbled leather. It is made using a brown cow s leather that has a slight distressed look and has a contrasting shearling collar as well as shearling trim round the arm holes and hem. There is also a shearling trim running down the centre back. It is fastened by brown buttons that run up the front. Gypsy Dress This dress was inspired by the war crinoline skirts worn during WW1, these were voluminous skirts that replaced the impractical narrow pre-war skirts, and were paired with calf length spats to curb the outrage of seeing women s legs. This design has a loose fitting vest style bodice with a v-neckline and a v-shaped back which are finished with bias binding. The waist is elasticated.
