CATEGORIES & CRITERIA SALON TEAM CHALLENGE - COLOUR, CUT, STYLE (OPEN) - 1 HOUR 20 MINS A team of 3 will showcase the best of the salon s colour and haircutting techniques and trends including- gorgeous highlights, balayage, ombre, dimensional and global techniques. Colour work is pre-done and then the model s hair will be cut and styled on the day. SET UP TIME 5 mins WORKING TIME 1 hour 15 mins on Floor JUDGING TIME 1 hour - people s choice 3 salon members to participate in the event - 1 team member - Pre done colour (Diffrent from Haircut and Blow dry & style) - 1 team member -Haircut (Different from colour and Blow dry & style) - 1 team member -Blow dry & style (Different from cut and colour) A male or female model may be used No pre-cutting allowed Hair must be thoroughly wet prior to commencement Hair pieces, extensions or ornamentation will be allowed The team must provide a Mood Board to support the colour and haircut design and this will be displayed beside the model for judging One electrical power point per team (No double adaptors allowed) The model will remain in attendance for 1 hour after the event for judging People s choice for the judging It is preferred that your model remains in attendance until all winners are announced MEN S CUTTING (APPRENTICE/STUDENT) 1 HOUR 5 MINS Participants will display the newest, hottest and coolest hairstyles for today s modern man, using contemporary techniques and finishing the cut with the latest in product selection. SET UP TIME 5 mins WORKING TIME 45 mins on Floor JUDGING TIME 15 mins A male model must be used. No pre-cutting or styling allowed Clipper attachments allowed - minimum Clipper - No. 2 blade No wigs, hair pieces or extensions allowed A significant amount of hair must be removed from the whole head One electrical power point per participant (No double adaptors allowed) It is preferred that the hair is styled ready for judging no extra time will be given for this Hair may be pre coloured No skin fades allowed No art work allowed Simple track work allowed It is preferred that your model remains in attendance until all winners are announced

CATEGORIES & CRITERIA CONT. UP STYLING - TRADITIONAL (OPEN) 1 HOUR 20 MINS This category is open to both apprentices and senior stylists. Up styles will reflect and be inspired by the good old classics including: french rolls, chignons, victory rolls and barrel curls. No ornamentation or hairpieces allowed with the exception of padding. SET UP TIME 5 mins WORKING TIME 1 hour on Floor JUDGING TIME 15 mins No section of the hair is to be in a completed form prior to commencement Traditional e.g. French roll, Chignon, Victory roll, Bun, Braiding Barrel curls - The use of padding is allowed in this category. All tools and styling aids allowed Bobby pins etc will be provided by the participant One electrical power point per participant (no double adaptors allowed) Hair may be pre-coloured Hair may be pre-set in rollers, pre curled or crimped prior to the event It is preferred that your model remains in attendance until all winners are announced UP STYLING - AVANT GARDE (OPEN) 1 HOUR 20 MINS This category is open to both apprentices and senior stylists. Up styles in this category will favour or introduce new and experimental ideas and innovative methods. Ornamentation and hairpieces allowed. SET UP TIME 5 mins WORKING TIME 1 hour on Floor JUDGING TIME 15 mins No section of the hair is to be in a completed form prior to commencement Hair pieces, extensions or ornamentation will be allowed in the Avant Garde category and these can be in a completed state prior however significant change must occur to the models original hair. All tools and styling aids allowed Bobby pins etc will be provided by the participant One electrical power point per participant (No double adaptors allowed) Hair may be pre-coloured Hair may be pre-set in rollers, pre curled or crimped prior to the event It is preferred that your model remains in attendance until all winners are announced

PHOTOGRAPHIC LADIES TOTAL LOOK ONLINE SUBMISSION - DUE 2 JULY 2018 ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR THIS COMPETITION WILL BE THROUGH THE NORMAL BHBE PROCESS, HOWEVER ALL PHOTOGRAPHIC SUBMISSIONS WILL BE JUDGED ONLINE. All submissions must be received online via email no later than 11:59pm (AEST) Monday 2nd July 2018. Entries must be emailed to grace@majorleague.com.au Images submitted for the BHBE Online Hair competition must not have been submitted, used or published before for any other local, national or international hairdressing competition Images must be new and have not seen before and must be the work of one (1) stylist only per entry Images must not have been uploaded onto any social media platforms prior to entering the BHBE online hair comp e.g. Instagram or Facebook A female model must be used for the Ladies Total look category (Open) and must represent modern colour, haircutting and styling techniques. Colour is compulsory for the ladies category The use of hair wefts, hairpieces and extensions is allowed. Nudity is prohibited A BHBE statutory declaration form must be submitted along with the Image to confirm authenticity of the submission An image and model release form must be submitted with the entry and if the model is under 18 years of age- a parent/ guardian must also sign the form All winning and place getter Images will be mounted and displayed by BHBE and be part of an overall photographic gallery and feature at the expo All Images will become the property of the BHBE Please submit one (1) photograph only The image must be portrait and and in colour. Email photo file size approximately 5mb as a JPG and in high resolution. Ensure the file name on your photo is your QR Code ONLY, which can be found on your registration ticket. Please include the following details in your submission email: - Name - QR Code No. located on your entry ticket - Address - Phone Number - Email - Salon Name - Salon Address - Photographer name - Model Name

RULES & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY ENTRY ONLINE ENTRY REGISTRATION FOR ALL CATEOGRIES FOUND AT: /hair-competitions/ Photographic category registration and submissions must be completed and received prior to the entry closing date at 11:59pm (AEST) on Monday 2nd July 2018 Entries for live categories must be completed and received prior to the entry closing date at 11:59pm (AEST) on Friday 13th July 2018 All Entry Fees include free Brisbane Hair and Beauty Access for one (1) competitor and one (1) model. 1.0 GENERAL 1.1 Brisbane Hair and Beauty Expo Hair Competition will be hosted on Sunday 29th and Monday 30th July 2018 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. 1.2 Competitors must ensure that all relevant fields within the Online Entry Registration are completed, and must include all relevant payment details Online Entries can be made at www. bhbe.com.au/hair-competitions/ 1.3 Online Entry Registrations that are incomplete or do not include relevant payment details may not be accepted. 1.4 Photographic online categories for Ladies Total Look and Men s Total Look entries and submissions close 11:59pm (AEST) on Monday 2nd July 2018. Entries for live categories received after the entry closing date at 11:59pm (AEST) Friday 13th July will not be accepted. 1.5 Competitors must identify which competency Division they will compete in within their chosen category. 1.6 The Brisbane Hair & Beauty Expo reserves the right to: a) Merge any categories/division if there are less than five competitors b) Withdraw any categories/divisions at any time prior to the Competition. 1.7 The Competition organizers are not responsible for competitors not adhering to or understanding the Competition Rules and Regulations. 1.8 The Competition organizers are not responsible for verifying each competitor enters into the correct division. The Competition organizers will rectify where necessary, but cannot verify all. 1.9 Participants must abide by the relevant Category Criteria; disqualification may occur if the relevant Competition Criteria is not adhered to. 1.10 Judges would like to see the latest in hair and fashion. Your inspiration should come from high fashion magazines. 1.11 All categories will be judged as a total look (Top to Toe). 1.12 Participants must have their own styling products to use to complete the style.

RULES & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY CONT. 1.13 All participants receiving coaching during the competition will be asked to leave the floor. 1.14 Once the competition has started, participants must stay on the competition floor with their model at all times 1.15 No mobile phones, ipods or MP3 players are to be on the competition floor. 1.16 Models must not touch their own hair whilst on the competition floor. 1.17 There will be no basins for use for shampooing of the hair. Hair will be wet down with a water spray only. 2.0 REFUNDS 2.1 We are not required to provide a refund or replacement if you change your mind; however you are welcome to transfer your ticket to another person. You may have other rights under Australian Consumer Law. For full details please contact the organiser or your relevant government agency. 2.2 All Competition transfers MUST be submitted in writing to relevant Competition Coordinator and Event Organisers. 3.0 REGISTRATION AND ASSEMBLY 3.1 All competitors must register on the day of their competition at the Competition Registration/Assembly area. 3.2 All participants will need to register at the Competition Registration/Assembly Area inside the Exhibition Hall at least 30 minutes before the starting time of their chosen category. Participants will be allocated 5-10 minutes to set up their workstation within the competition area prior to the start time of their competition. Please refer to timetable. 3.3 All competitors and models who require early entry prior to the Expo doors opening will be granted access inside the Exhibition Hall to register at the Competition Registration/ Assembly Area. Instructions will be provided by the event organiser in the lead up to the Expo on how to gain entry 3.4 A permission to photograph will be signed by both participant and model at Competition Registration/Assembly prior to competing. 4.0 ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT & ELECTRICITY 4.1 Participants must have all of their own equipment ready to begin at the allocated time (you will not be allowed to borrow from other competitors). 4.2 The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) Management reserves the right to request removal from the site of any electrical equipment it deems to be non-compliant or suspect and can call upon internal specialists to assist when necessary. 4.3 All portable electrical equipment, appliances and leads used on the BCEC site must be tested and tagged in accordance with Australian Standard 3760 and Workplace Health & Safety Legislation. Any electrical equipment found not tested will have to be done immediately or removed from the Centre. 4.4 Each participant will be provided with 1 (one) electrical power point ONLY for use on the competition floor. 4.5 For safety reasons, double adaptors are not to be used inthe Centre. Any person who suffers an electric shock from any pieceof electrical equipment MUST report the incident IMMEDIATELY to the Hair Competition Coordinator, Event Organisers or Centre s Security Department.

RULES & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY CONT. 5.0 JUDGING 5.1 Judging will be at the completion of each category. 15-10 minutes will be allocated for judging on the competition floor. 5.2 On completion of judging, all competitors will allow their models to be photographed by an official photographer; this may be used for future marketing or advertising purposes. 5.3 Judging of the photographic online submissions will take place between Tuesday 3rd July and Friday 13th July 2018. Winners and place getters will be announced Monday 16th July 2018. 5.4 The judges decision is final. 6.0 PRESENTATIONS (1 ST, 2 ND, 3 RD PLACE FOR EACH CATEGORY) 6.1 Award presentations will be made to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place getters in each category at approximately 3.15pm on each day of the event on Centre Stage (time is subject to slight change). 6.2 On completion of presentations, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place getters will allow their models to be photographed; this may be used for future marketing, social media or advertising purposes. 7.0 LIABILITY 7.1 Each competitor and model assumes all risk for any liabilities, expense, loses, damages and costs resulting directly or indirectly from their participation in the Competition and indemnifies the Competition coordinator, Brisbane Hair and Beauty Expo any employee, officer or agent or Major League Corporate Marketing for any expense, loss, damage, liability or cost (including legal costs on a full indemnity basis and whether incurred by or awarded against a party) resulting directly or indirectly from the negligent or unlawful acts or omission of a competitors or models. 7.2 The Brisbane Hair and Beauty Expo, its Organisers (Major League Marketing), employees, officers and agents, Competition Coordinator and the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre shall not be held accountable or liable for any liabilities, expenses, losses, damages, harm, injury or costs incurred by a competitor or model resulting directly or indirectly from their participation in the Competition.
