Afedap Formations bijou : Program overview A two year program «Bijoutier Concepteur - Bijoutier Auteur» prepares aspiring jewellers - designer in jewellery by providing them with a firm foundation in the critical skills and techniques to enter the professional world Students undertake both a theoretical and practical course of study in the domains of drawing, gouaché, assembling techniques, research and development, jewel history, as well as in computer-aided design and presentation techniques. Through a series of workshops and courses with professionals, students will lear how to design, construct, communicate, present and sell their own project. This program is an intensive study in all aspects of the design process and making techniques. They have the opportunity to present their work to invited guests at jury presentations. Our pedagogical program allows individual talent to be developed, they are encouraged to explore processes and materials - and experiment to push the boundaries of their discipline. The student will develop practical skills alongside intellectual engagement and inventive thinking. Individuality is fundamental to your creative development. In your first year of study «bijoutier concepteur» the focus is on developing traditional processes followed by experimental materials investigation, allowing you to enter the second year with a range of skills and the confidence to explore various topics and to develop your own identity into a jewel.

Founded in 1993 Afedap formations bijou is unique : our distinctiveness is that we open the way to creativity without ignoring traditional techniques. Our course is dedicated to contemporary jewellery and emphasise individuality. We provide skills and build capacity in order to mine the creative potential of each student. The school benefits from active professional, artists, and support staff. You ll be based in Paris, north-est of the city, nearby Buttes-Chaumont park You will have the general knowledge of jewellery making techniques hands-on from concept to creation. You will also perform and understand many of the tasks needed in order to start making and designing your own jewellery trade Visa application Nationals from a number of countries will apply for their French student visa through Campus France, the country s official national agency for higher education and international students. Those students would also have been required to use Campus France to apply to their chosen French institutions, via the CEF procedure. If you do not need to go through Campus France you will need to contact the French consulate in your home country and provide them documents requested.

Afedap Formations bijou : Portfolio and supporting statement Artistic Portfolio A portfolio is a collection of your work, or a 'visual diary', showing how your skills and ideas have developed over time. You can include examples of your research, development of your ideas and finished pieces, your most recent work, even not finished, your sketchbooks (rough ideas and notes, descriptions, annotations ). Your portfolio can include any artistic area of work : of course jewellery but it is not a prerequisite, drawing, painting, photography, spatial design, design product etc. Supporting statement Write a clear and detailed description of your training path, of your study objectives, and give your reasons for wanting to pursue them. Be specific about jewellery field and your specialized interests within the field. Describe the kind of program you expect to undertaken and explain how it fits in with your future objectives. Describe how and why you choose Afedap to undertake your training. Describe also your awareness of the cost of the tuition and the long duration stay in Paris Your supporting statement must be in french. But don t be afraid about your french writing level here : we prefer a sincere and honest statement that you wrote even with spelling and grammar mistakes. All the requirements needed for admission are needed on purpose to know if you really are interested in the jewellery field, if you have a good knowledge of our courses, and what is your business project at the end of your training.

He places his work in the field of contemporary creation. The option Bijoutier Métier d Art opens on the positions of creation, design and realisation in jewellery or jewellery workshops or to set up as art craftsman. The Designer Bijouterie Joaillerie option allows you to design and develop models and jewellery lines. It opens on positions in office style, design offices in creation and design of jewellery or work independently for houses, brands, manufacturers, individuals. The option Bijoutier Contemporain option allows you to settle as an artist, visual artist, as a creative jeweller or to integrate companies from the fashion, show and jewellery sector. CONTENUS a common core of technical and practical courses, specific courses by option: lectures, practical work and workshop work.
