In five fabulously fashionable years, Westfield London has firmly established itself as an iconic fashion destination where you can find unrivalled choice under one roof and one-off collaborations. To mark the much-anticipated fifth birthday, check out the fantastic offers in this booklet and get involved with all the birthday celebrations around the centre. Westfield London will be celebrating in style by collaborating with five London based fashion designers - Louise Gray, Richard Nicoll, Sophia Webster, Peter Pilotto and Thomas Tait to each work the luxe sportswear trend and create limited edition sweatshirts, fusing their signature style with Westfield London as their design inspiration. Westfield London Birthday sweatshirts Will be available to purchase at 65 each in the exclusive pop up shop in The Atrium from 30th October. The store will be open for 5 days until 3rd November and all profits will go to Save the Children. You can spot Louise Gray from a mile off, with her brightly dyed, spiky hair and madly multicoloured outfits. The print and textile designer, who cut her teeth at Central Saint Martins and on the famed NEWGEN scheme, is in demand from some of the world s biggest fashion houses and has also created a hit collection for Topshop. Louise Gray comments: This is the second time I have worked with Westfield and it s great to be part of their 5th birthday celebrations. I wanted my sweatshirt to be fun and colourful, but also way to wear and style your own way.
Richard Nicoll is part of a group of designers credited with bringing the buzz back to London Fashion Week. Now celebrating his tenth year as a designer, Richard s designs are always modern and cool with elements of sportiness and masculine tailoring. Richard Nicholl comments: We originally worked with Westfield when they first launched in London five years ago so it s great to be part of the 5th Birthday celebration. We love a good sweatshirt for a good cause! In little more than a year, Sophia Webster s playful shoe designs have captured the imagination of fashion lovers everywhere (including Rihanna and Rita Ora), bringing her unprecedented success. From unicorns to Barbies, Sophia finds inspiration in all that is girlish and kitsch. Now she s made a sweatshirt exclusively for Westfield London. Sophia Webster comments: I m drawn to details, finishes and colours that are girly - pearls, bows, jewels etc. I created a print with jewels from the shoes in my pre- SS14 collection. I used stripes for the background and pastel-toned sleeves.
The Peter Pilotto show at London Fashion week is always a hot ticket. Peter and his design partner, Christopher have carved out a reputation for creating ingenious prints inspired by everything from their far-flung holidays to new art obsessions. Celebrities including Miranda Kerr and Carey Mulligan have helped make their dresses globally recognized. Peter Pilotto comments: Sweatshirts are the most versatile of garments and having the opportunity to apply a print to a blank canvas, to create an accessible fashion must-have, was exciting. Designing this product exclusively for Westfield London has been great fun and it is fantastic that all proceeds are going directly to Save the Children. Canadian designer Thomas Tait has won plaudits for his modern ways with sportswear, with industry insiders tipping him as a big fashion name of the future. His LFW shows always take place in curveball locations; this season it was an elegant townhouse, before that, a graffiti-covered skate park. Thomas Tait comments: Taking a wardrobe staple like the sweatshirt and transforming it into something special for a new consumer was a great opportunity. I m looking forward to being part of the celebrations for Westfield London s 5th anniversary and supporting a very worthwhile cause with Save the Children.
